Helps keep your liver clean
I have gone through a hard year dealing with back spasms that have left me in so much pain, no amount of natural products were helping. I did have to use quite a bit - ok, I will be honest - TOO MANY NSAIDS like Advil & Alieve. These meds are very hard on your liver when taken long term. But I have done quite a bit of research in the past 2 years between my daughter's GI illness and my back. This research led me to understand that milk thistle can help the liver process a lot of the junk we throw at it. Bad food, alcohol, too many meds like NSAIDS. But I knew that between milk thistle and aloe vera (Lily of the Desert inner filet juice, couple of ounces in the morning in a glass of water before breakfast, SO HEALTHY for liver & GI tract, HIGHLY RECOMMEND) would make a difference. My mother in law starting taking NSAIDS around the same time as me in January, because her hip was in so much pain, and she was scheduled for a hip replacement in late March. She had a blood test the week before her surgery & had to have it postponed for a week because her high NSAID use messed up her liver enzymes. I got worried that mine would be messed up as well since we both were gulping Alieve like it was our job for basically the same amount of time. Plus I knew I had gone too far with the NSAIDS when one day I took yet another dose of Diclofenac (prescription NSAID) and had my first ever allergic reaction to it - Hives on my arm. That was an indicator that your body had had enough of it, even though I had been rotating through it with OTC NSAIDS for a couple of months) I had a whole blood workup done in early April and my liver enzymes were completely normal, much to the surprise of my doctor - and me. I now give it to my kids, esp my tween daughter, to help their bodies process the junk they are exposed to daily. It is supposed to help tweens & teens with their zits so we will see if it does. Zits can be an indication that your body is not filtering out everything properly (and hormones play into it, of course). I will update this review in teh future. Also, just so you can figure out what supplements might work best for you, I CANNOT stress enough the book DRUG MUGGERS by registered pharmacist Suzy Cohen. PLEASE look into that book after you read this. It is the definitive read on what supplements YOU need & why, plus suggestions on what brands might work for you & your budget
