Reduced glare sensitivity
My ophthalmologist recommended a lutein supplement, and I am glad I followed his advice. Since starting, I’ve noticed a substantial reduction in sensitivity to glare that had previously hindered my night driving. Lutein is known for its role in preventing macular degeneration and reducing cataract risk. It promotes eye health, especially lens density. I'm particularly pleased, as it’s beneficial for those of us who struggle with dark greens in our diets. I rely on Jarrow products, which I find to be effective and reasonably priced.

Preventive eye health
I believe this supplement relies on faith, but it’s crucial for those who don’t consume enough leafy greens. Antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin are said to prevent cataracts, supported by studies linking higher intake to reduced risk. These compounds absorb excessive light energy, protecting the eyes from damage, especially for heavy computer users. It is recommended to take around 6 mg daily. I will continue to monitor my intake to maintain my ocular health.

Long-term eye health
Lutein and zeaxanthin, found in certain vegetables, are also available as supplements. Since I seldom consume these foods, I prefer taking them in pill form. My wife, who has a history of vision issues, benefited from Lutein, including during her Lasik surgeries. Although she initially achieved 20/15 eyesight, she eventually reverted towards her previous state. I consistently take Lutein and believe it is crucial for eye health, especially considering my early-stage cataracts. While I cannot be certain of its sole effectiveness, I trust in its benefits as part of my regimen.

Part of my regimen
From my wife Sarah: I favour Jarrow brand due to their reasonable pricing and allergen-free products. I have added this lutein supplement to my eye care regimen, which has already helped maintain my 20/20 distance vision, although I do need reading glasses. Alongside Macuguard for overall support, I also started using Oclumed eye drops for early-stage cataracts. These eye drops have noticeably improved my vision, despite their high cost. My husband’s floater issue was resolved after he began using Ocluvet, showcasing its efficacy.
