I've been taking this for peripheral neuropathy for several years, and it significantly helps with the pain in my feet. However, if I forget to take it, I quickly feel the discomfort in my knee pain at night and often double my dosage for a day or two. My prescription medications don't alleviate this specific pain, and it was recommended by a nurse to those with diabetes.

Sustained release works well for my knee pain, yet it can cause stomach upset. Despite taking the tablets with meals, I've experienced significant stomach issues. According to webmd, some individuals may have stomach reactions to ALA, so it's advisable to be cautious.
