The Benefits of Fish oil, hypothyroidism Treatment

Fish oil, which contains omega-3 fatty acids such as EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), has been widely studied for its potential health benefits. However, there is currently limited evidence to suggest that Fish oil supplements specifically help prevent or improve hypothyroidism a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormones. While omega-3 fatty acids are essential for thyroid function and play a role in reducing inflammation, more research is needed to establish a direct link between Fish oil and hypothyroidism

One study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition explored the association between omega-3 fatty acids and thyroid function in a large cohort. The researchers found that higher blood levels of EPA and DHA were associated with a decreased risk of developing hypothyroidism However, it is important to note that this study only shows an association and does not establish a cause-and-effect relationship. Furthermore, it did not specifically investigate the effects of Fish oil supplementation on hypothyroidism
