Perfect for multi gang boxes, 4 port too cramped for Monoprice

I had originally planned on installing my in-wall media connections using Monoprice's keystone wall plates, but when I opted to use these recessed multi gang boxes I had to revise. In the 4 port plate, the holes are too close together for the Monoprice keystone plugs to fit side by side without some modification. I tried to illustrate the spacing issue in the pictures. The recessed rca keystone plugs I used have some extra plastic structure that I cut away. I was worried about reduced stability when installed after the plastic was removed, but I've had no issues with loose or wiggly ports. In the 2 port plate, the Monoprice brand keystone plugs snap in easily and securely. After repeated tests of plugging in and removing cables, I had no issues with the ports coming loose or falling out

Decent Product

*** NOT A PAID REVIEW *** Bottom Line: Nice Product for DIY This is a review of several products in one (Arlington Recessed Outlet Wall Plate Kit ($13), Leviton QuickPort Decora Insert ($5), Leviton QuickPort Cat 5e Jack ($3), Leviton QuickPort F-Type Adapter ($5), Leviton 15 Amp, 125 V Duplex Receptacle ($7), and RiteAV Coax/Cat6 Wall Plate ($14)) to save some time while still providing feedback for anyone interested in buying these items. I purchased these items to customize my home entertainment center (basically hide unsightly cords/tripping hazards). I liked the recessed option so that I keep the tv as close to the wall as possible without damaging the cords. The other items in the list (as previously noted) fit nicely into the box but were not necessarily specifically needed. The items arrived within 2-3 days of purchase as expected for prime members. All items were prepackaged and new/unopened. As you can see in the pictures, everything fit nicely together and looked clean once installed and in use. My only gripe would be the price for plastic components but I would still recommend it and would do it again. Oh, for a decent screw head…

Overall, it's a great product. But the heads of the screws that come with it are ridiculously soft (especially given their length), and despite using a screwdriver that seems to fit perfectly -- _and_ a flat head, out of desperation -- I've chewed up the heads on every single one I've installed. Always a pet peeve

Easy for multimedia

This is a great quality product. It is a plastic faceplate that you can insert modular items. Everythign from RJ-45 to RCA connection. If you don't need one port now, they also sell little blanks. Its a bit expensive, which it receives 4 out of 5 stars. But the quality is great. Leviton makes solid commercial grade products that last. Even the threads of the plate have a little metal insert to protect from stripping

More expensive than ports built into plates, but worth it.

I used to use the keystone plates that had the holes directly in the plate. The problem with those is that you can't easily remove the plate when it comes time to paint. You have to remove the entire plate which means taking out each port and letting the wires hang out of the wall. Enter the Leviton QuickPort insert to save the day. These are more expensive (4 - 5X the cost), but they allow you to use a standard decora wallplate (the same one for switches and outlets). Then when you have to paint, you just remove the standard wallplate like you do with the outlets, and this insert stays right there in the wall (just like an electrical outlet would). The other advantage to this is that if you are already using oversized plates for your outlets, you can use the same ones with these inserts. The all-in-one plates are typically the standard size, so you end up with a wall with different size plates

I have Quickport products deployed all across my house - from speaker ports to ethernet to hdmi. They are easy to assemble and they work great. This particular order was for hard-wired ethernet to a home office - they look and work great

Plastic, but sturdy

I did have a concern that this was an all plastic construction, but after installing it, that is no longer an issue. it is well gusseted in the areas needed and very sturdy. I've altered the enet and cable location several times already, which required disassembly and re-assembly - no cracks or warping. can't go wrong with Leviton products
