I Don't Write Reviews, and Yet…

I don't write reviews. I usually never have the time. I had to make time for this product, however. Let me explain. There is no TL;DR - You may need to nap a bit. This stuff is awesome. There. If you want the Cliffnotes. I have struggled with my weight all of my life. I am now in my mid-forties. Five years ago, I was in a small car accident that I didn't think twice about - it literally was a bump. But it was more than nothing to my already beat up, worn out, and abused body. I have several bulging lumbar discs, cervical discs, and probably have enough arthritis in me to fill a small swimming pool all from an accident I had back in 2001. When I was 250-ish pounds. Fast forward to the part where I fell out of a bus a few years later and ballooned up to a eye-popping 381 pounds. Lost a little bit. Fell through the (soaked and rotted) kitchen floor at my ex's house - one leg only. Had the car accident. Found out several years later that I tore the labrum in my right hip. My left leg had to do double duty to keep me from falling all over the place just trying to walk from one room to another in a small apartment. Multiple surgeries... Two years ago, I noticed my hips were aching, almost burning, whenever I would walk. It didn't matter what shoes I wore or didn't wear. It didn't matter if I sat down a bit and tried again. The pain would always come back and make walking so painful I didn't want to leave the bed. At 373 pounds, the last thing I want to do was stay in the bed all day, every day. I'm overweight, not dead! But I'll be damned if I don't feel like rigor mortis has set in most of the time. Everyone looks at you like you're lazy, when inside your body feels like it's made of gd glass and all you want to do is die. That is until it occurred to me that my problem might be either bursitis or arthritis. I wasn't about to go to my doctor. She's nice enough, but I'm in Alabama and I'm sorry.. sometimes, her staff can be a camp of idiots. Like right now. But that's a different review - just sayin. My mother, Mumm-Ra, takes fish oil supplements for her arthritis - among other things. I tried hers. I didn't feel different the entire time I took it - a week, week and a half. Was I not doing it right? I was taking the recommended dosage, but the caps were so tiny. Maybe I messed it up. IDK. I started to do some research online. It took me a while and I found a page that was listing all the things we should be looking for in a really good supplement. Of course, it depends on what your needs are. My needs are to not be in any more damn pain, I don't know about you. ;) Anyway, there were some listings of a few and I selected this brand out of all of them in the list because of the lignans. Lignans are polyphenols (big word for "badasses") that studies have shown to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. It's true. And I swear, by all that is good and holy, the day after I took my first dose (2 caplets) there was NO PAIN. I thought I had been flimflammed. Seriously. This was a fluke. Right? Sure. So I took that day's dose and waited. The next day, same result. And the next. And the next. And the... it's been over 2 months now. The first bottle, I only ordered a small bottle. I just had my second delivery about 2 weeks ago, and I ordered 240 caplets. I got the small the first time because I didn't want to waste money on a product that might not work out. I mean, I know I could get a refund, but I might be too lazy to even bother. I just wanted to make it easier for me. A small loss is easier to walk away from. My mother is also taking them and they have improved her mobility with one of her knees - the other has been replaced so it's fine. I've never seen her so ... not upset about how her body feels. She actually can get out of the chair without screaming so loud it can be heard on the moon. I will continue to buy this product for as long as I need it - switching between this one, which is made with anchovy oil, and the other, which is made with krill oil. It's a lifesaver. It really is. There is one thing though. Please don't take this on an empty stomach. It is coated so it won't upset your stomach, but if you do take it without eating first, you might feel a bit like you have indigestion for a long while. It's not a good feeling. Eat first, then take the caplets. I only needed to take half the recommended dosage. Figure out what works best for you

Love LE products, but this smells really strong

I do like LE products and know that their products is of high quality. I usually purchase several supplements (to help fight cancer) from LE, Pure encapsulation and Vital nutrients. I ran out of the fish oil I purchase through PE and thought I would try this one as I get 2 day shipping from Amazon prime and it's half of the price of PE. I was going to purchase the bottle with 120 pills which the serving size was 2 pills, then there was another option to purchase a difference size bottle with 240 pills for $3 more. What I didn't realize is that the serving size goes up to 4 pills. So that was a big mistake that others seem to make it as well. Very deceiving! The smell is also very strong and horrible! Smells really fishy and made me gag. I will probably go back to pure encapsulations as I get more per pills and there is no smell at all! Bellow there is a picture of two bottle sizes and the description, and also a PE clear pill next to a LE dark pill. I do love this company but not this particular product

I buy this particular brand because they are voluntarily tested by Consumer Labs, which I subscribe to. They independently test vitamins and supplements for actual content accuracy regarding ingredients and levels, solubility, and really important with fish oil - mercury levels. They also tell you which brands are the best value for the money. There are many brands out there that simply lie about what they contain and/or how much of a certain ingredient they contain. Some of the cheaper brands are surprisingly the most reliable. This is among the best for a fish oil supplement. You really can't go wrong

You have to take 4 of these per serving…really??? This shouldn't be ‘breakfast'

I returned this supplement. It might be OK with some people but I already have to take a lot of supplements and other meds. multiple times a day. When added to morning supplements, having to take 4 of these fills me up for the rest of my breakfast. I'd like to have room for at least a piece of toast or an egg. When is a 'deal' not a deal? When it takes 4 x's as much of the product

Easier to swallow, low burb smell, but don't wash them by mistake!

Definitely easier to swallow than the larger version of this same product. No fishy burps. However, don't mistakenly wash these with your pants! Eight pills in a box left in my jeans. Washed with three other pairs of jeans, a pair of pants and shorts. Everything smells like fish. The washer and dryer (yes, there too) are mostly cleaned up now but after 10 washes, numerous suggestions the pants still smell like fish. Fair warning. ðŸ™

These are NOT small capsules as described, see my comparison photo.

As someone who is unable to swallow large pills, I was happy to find these fish oil capsules that say “small, easy to swallow” on the bottle. However, they are BARELY smaller than other fish oil capsules! See my attached photo, comparing a capsule from this product (bottom) to another brand of 1000 mg fish oil capsule (top). I thought “small” would be more like the size of a vitamin e type capsule

Hurts my stomach

I ordered these because my current prenatal multivitamin (with DHA) was bothering my stomach. I decided to try a different multivitamin and get DHA separately though these Life Extension pills because I read that they were easy on the stomach. It turns out, the Life Extension pills upset my stomach even more than the prenatal I used to take. So, if you are concerned about how these might effect your stomach, I think you just have to try them and see if they bother you or not. Every person's stomach is different. Other than that, the pills are what they claim to be. Easy to swallow. They do smell, but it's to be expected and it's not overwhelming. I chose Life Extension because I've used several of their supplements over the years and I trust the brand. This particular supplement just isn't working for me while I'm pregnant

Great Super Omega 3! Taking this for over 2 years

I have been taking this vitamin along with the Life Extension Daily Vitamin for over 2 years. I mainly take this vitamin for overall health, skin, hair, nails. After reading all about Life Extension and using there products, I have realized the ingredients are usually perfect and I have noticed a improvement after taking this Super Omega 3. Capsules leak

Bought this in April and stored in a cool dry place , found the capsule to be fish tasting and as we got half way through the bottle found we could no longer take the pills due to the strong fish taste , emptied the bottle on paper towel and found several capsules were broken and had to throw the bottle out, Had I bought this direct from Life Extensions they would have replaced the bottle

I took it because I've been depressed lately and very stressed.

Basically right after taking this I felt no stress and I wasn't depressed anymore. It sounds crazy but it's almost like taking some sort of medication because it really calms me down. When I don't take a pill I go right back to feeling the way I did before
