For Aquagenic Pruritis–
The list of product features for Minerin include "compare to Eucerin". I feel that this comparison is not descriptive and could prevent people from using this product. I discarded the remainder of my tub of Original Eucerin after I had used Minerin for a few days. When I started this review, I found my "emergency" tube of Eucerin and tried it again, just on my hands. Um, no. Not even close to Minerin. Eucerin remains stickier and shinier, no matter how much I try to work it into my skin. I buff the Eucerin with a cloth to remove the tackiness. With Minerin, I have half a chance of pulling on cotton leggings after an application-- no way would I try that with Eucerin. The list of ingredients for the two products is almost identical except that Eucerin shows the ingredient "Ceresin" and Minerin uses the broader term, "Mineral Wax". For me, the experience of Minerin is a wee bit closer to a very dense Neutrogena Norwegian Formula (although the products are very differently composed) and the Original Eucerin feels a wee bit closer to Crisco with a skosh less grease. (This is not a slur! Crisco is a great product for skin care.) I am puzzled that Minerin is shown as a product of Eucerin. My tub of Minerin specifies that it is neither manufactured nor distributed by Beiersdorf, owner of the Eucerin trademark. I mention "Aquagenic Pruritis" because Minerin is an essential part of my maintaining some level of comfort, and there are more than just a few of us who experience intense stinging and itching when our skin comes into contact with water. We are all looking for the best product. I use Minerin all over my body every night and sleep in cotton pajamas with cotton gloves and socks. I also apply Minerin to my whole body before my fast-as-lightening showers. It has enough protective ingredients to get me through daily brief-as-possible exposures to water, and enough emollients to allow the product to "work into my skin" rather than sit on top of it like vaseline
