Melatonin linked to nausea management
Melatonin Immunoreactivity in Malignant Small Intestinal Neuroendocrine Tumours.
Strong focus on melatonin effects
We explored how melatonin could affect nausea in patients with small intestinal neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs). Our research involved studying tumor tissue from 26 patients, examining their primary tumors alongside metastases for the presence of melatonin and its receptors.

Interestingly, we found that higher melatonin levels in the body were linked to reported experiences of nausea. Specifically, patients with higher plasma melatonin levels at both time points indicated more frequent nausea occurrences. This underscores the potential role of melatonin in influencing nausea symptoms.

However, it's notable that in those cases where the disease was stable or improving, plasma levels of melatonin dropped after treatment, suggesting a complicated relationship between melatonin levels and treatment responses. These findings provide some valuable insights into the endocrine roles of melatonin in SI-NETs and signal a need for future studies to further dissect these relationships.

Melatonin may reduce postoperative nausea
Comparison of the effect of melatonin, dexmedetomidine, and gabapentin on reduction of postoperative pain and anxiety following laminectomy: a randomized clinical trial.
Moderate relevance for nausea assessment.
In a recent clinical trial involving 99 patients undergoing laminectomy, we explored the effectiveness of melatonin on postoperative nausea. Participants were divided into three groups: one received melatonin, another had gabapentin, and the third was given a starch placebo. The goal was to compare how each treatment affected both pain and anxiety following surgery.

Interestingly, we found that patients in the melatonin group reported less nausea and vomiting compared to other groups. This suggests that melatonin might play a role in easing nausea following surgical procedures.

However, it's important to note that while melatonin showed some benefits for nausea, the overall emphasis of the study was on its comparative effectiveness against gabapentin and dexmedetomidine for pain and anxiety management. Thus, while melatonin seems to help minimize nausea, more research could further clarify its role and effectiveness in diverse settings.

No side effects
This high-quality melatonin helps me fall asleep quickly. Unlike many other melatonin medications, this one had no side effects, including nausea. The tablets are small, tasteless, and odourless, which I appreciate. Although the vitamin B6 dose is high, I haven't noticed any overdose symptoms from long-term use, possibly due to B6 neutralising side effects.

Effective for insomnia
I cannot order from iHerb without including this. It has become essential for my home. It's highly effective for insomnia; however, taking a full pill gives me headaches and nausea. I usually cut the pill in half or even quarters, and that suits me well, eliminating previous symptoms. I rely on it especially during Ramadan for better sleep, and my family has also become reliant on it.

Nausea experience
Side effects prevail. This is not the first melatonin I've tried, but it has many side effects for me. Immediately after taking it, I experienced dizziness and nausea, akin to feeling drunk, alongside poor sleep and a dry mouth, making swallowing difficult. I wake up feeling like I can't swallow. I wouldn’t recommend it—everything else is fine.
