Great for constipation, but Beware misleading label

I've been using magnesium citrate for years to treat constipation, as recommended by my gastroenterologist. The Citrate form works differently in the body than the other type, Magneium Oxide. The magneium citrate offers all the same mineral benefits of the other varieties but it also helps pull fluids into your intestines which makes it easier to pass stool (i.e. go to the bathroom) Typically at least 400mg is needed in healthy individuals to have that effect. I have to take 800mg, as recommended by my doctor for my severe constipation. That being said the biggest issue I have with all versions (not just this company) of magnesium citrate is that they are giant horse pills. They are mostly available in tablet form which makes them even more difficult to swallow. I once got one stuck in my throat and had to go to the ER. Not fun. I was excited because I thought these softgels would go down easier than the tablet forms. They definitely do, however there is less milligrams in each softgel so you have to take more of them. With most varieties I had to take 4 tablets (200mg each x 4 = the 800mg I need) but these are only 125mg a pill. The packaging is misleading saying a serving size dose is 2 pills and doesn't say the milligrams on the front. So with this variety I have to take 6 pills and it puts me a little short of what I'm supposed to have (125mg each x 6 = 750mg) I like that these are softgels. They are still large but a little easier to swallow than tablets. I just wish they provided the same milligrams as the tablet version. And that the company advertised the milligrams per pill on the FRONT of the bottle

Excellent product, with two capsules daily providing a bit more than the minimum daily requirement of Magnesium. Unlike Magnesium oxide, it produces no gastrointestinal irritation with "acid stomach." Some cardiologists believe that by increasing intracellular magnesium in heart muscle cells, it may reduce or eliminate atrial fibrillation episodes in individuals with AF. They actually work!

This is the best magnesium citrate in a softgel that I have found. It's incredibly hard to find a good one, and I need this specific form. Even though the softgels are quite large, they go down super easily. I take two every night before bed and they keep me regular, next morning like clockwork. If I miss a dose, it doesn't happen so I know for a fact they work! Great price too

Heaven in a bottle!! For people having issues using the toilet

This product is amazing!! I always had problems using the bathroom everyday. I'd literally sometimes use the bathroom once a week. And I know that's not healthy for me, and I'd break out a lot on my face. Ever since I've started using it I can poop everyday! Or maybe even 2-3 times a day. And I feel a positive change in my body. Amazing product!! I never review products but this product is really legit. Anyone having bathroom issues, this is the way to go

This prevents me from getting kidney stones.

I'd marry it if they let me. (I'm not a dr.) I got kidney stone progressively more frequently over the past 20 years. Where the frequency was getting them every 3 months. Kidney stones blow, so does frequent ER visits for them. This pill once a day stopped them cold. My kidney stone Dr. said he had to double check the name on the XRay when he saw I had no kidney stones. Normally it looks like I've got gravel in my kidneys. This is my most favorite supplement ever. Thank you

Works for restless legs, very large capsules

My wife and I both have suffered severe restless legs for years. I was in the hospital and received a liquid medication that contained magnesium. I noticed that for the first time my restless legs stopped, but when I was done with the medication it started again. Did some reading and found out restless legs can be relieved for some people using magnesium. Tried this and it worked so my wife tried it too and she also got relief. Much cheaper and safer and more effective than the prescription meds I had tried. So for RLS this gets two thumbs up. They are humongous pills though. Not necessarily difficult to swallow but psychologically daunting until you're used to it. Regardless of that they've been so effective I can't take off a star for that

250mg for 2 Capsules

I am supplementing with magnesium citrate based on a recommendation from my midwife. She recommended 500 mg per day, taken in the morning. However, I misread the label on these - they are 250 mg per 2 capsules - so I will need to take 4 capsules every morning to get the 500 mg. I will finish this bottle but look for a larger dosage in less capsules next time. The capsules are smoothly coated, however still one of the larger (if not largest) pills I take

WOW! Two weeks in and such an improvement!

I've been taking this diligently for over 2 weeks now and what an improvement! I'm barely 30 but I had constant leg cramps, achy joints, and I was exhausted all the time! Couldn't sleep through the night, couldn't focus at work. Every symptom of deficiency in magnesium I had it! I've gone into the doctor before and done blood tests that showed I was deficient in vitamin D and calcium. I decided to give magnesium a try after reading it was often low too if those were low. After a week I'm sleeping through the night! I can focus at work, even my coworkers have noticed an improvement. I was able to restart exercises that were getting too difficult with my sore joints and cramps! If it's placebo I legit don't care, I feel great! Either way thanks magnesium

Has MCT – If you have tachycardia, be aware!

I wanted to love these, I really did. They really work for bowel regularity. Through years of job stress I have developed IBS-C, and Mag Citrate is one of the very few things that helped. These pills certainly work for promoting bowel regularity, however they gave me a scary side effect: major tachycardia. I'm not sure why that's the case, but I have a strong suspicion it's because of the MCT component in the pills. Personally, from my very limited past experience with it, MCT triggers bouts of palpitations, shortness of breath, and tachycardia for me. I know many people vouch for it, but no one size fits all. It was reassuring for me to see some reviewers saying it triggered the same thing for them. From my brief internet search, anecdotally, MCT seems to do that for certain people. If you're unfortunately one of them, I do not recommend this supplement for you. If you however have no issues with MCT, and you want to take this for bowel regularity, this brand is an excellent choice for you
