Best and strongest form of elderberry

I have seen multiple reviews stating that this product can give an immune system boost and that may well be what the product packaging implies as a way of not breaking any FDA regulations; but elderberry has actually been shown in several laboratory tests (done in Israel) to actually kill the flu virus, including bird flu. In the dish it flat out killed the virus, in the body it appeared to prevent the virus from multiplying. In non-scientific testing it cut the severity down considerably and the duration by down by half. So while it is often marketed as an immune boost, it is actually an antidote shown to be more effective than Tamiflu

What is going on?

My daughter and I have been taking this product for years for a immune system boost. We have four bottles of Sambucus, on auto delivery a month. We have always had this product come in glass bottles! I understand you probably had some breakage but something is off, the taste has changed and something has changed in it effectiveness! I started to take Sambucus as a immune boost, to my surprise, my weather related migraines disappeared! They seem to be starting again! We usually mix the Sambucus with water and drink it over a couple hours unfortunately it seems to be fermenting in the glass, that has never happened! I read a article once that said you should never put acidic products in plastic it pulls out the petroleum from the plastic which then gets into the food, could this be the problem? In addition, why, when we are trying to eliminate plastic from the environment would you change the wonderful glass bottle that was your previous container to plastic? I am writing a updated addition to my October 19,2018 review. It is almost a year later since that review, October 7, 2019. Around a week or so ago I received a order for two Sambucus 16oz. bottles. One bottle was glass and one bottle was plastic because of this I was able to do a side by side taste test proving my previous review to be spot on! (FYI, I mix two teaspoons Sambucus with 3 cups of water). The Sambucus from the plastic bottle had a unpleasent taste and smell immediately and fermented within a half hour in the glass drinking cup. The Sambucus from the glass bottle tasted of berries with a pleasent taste and smell and lasted about 4 hours sitting out when I finished it, still tasting as if I had just made it! So, in my opinion, and proving my previous review to be true, the plastic bottle is changing the product (Sambucus) inside of it

Misleading. Only 2,500 mg per serving, not 12,000. Plastic bottle

For those looking for the super concentrated original formula 12,000 mg per serving, this is not it. The marketing/advertisement on this bottle is misleading - the actual amount of Black Elderberry is NOT 12,000 mg per serving, it's actually only 2,500 mg per serving. Huge difference. If you look closely at the front of the bottle where the yellow label is, it actually says " Made FROM 12,000 mg Black Elderberries per serving" which is not the same as the original formula. The original formula from the manufacturer indicates 12,000 mg per serving. This one I got from Amazon is only 2,500 mg per serving. It is false advertisement to indicate it as " Original" when it is not. Makes me wonder if I'm just taking in more of fillers like glycerin, water than the berries itself. Lesson learn to really read your labels carefully! This one is definitely one of the more trickier ones! Also, I am disappointed that this 16 oz was bottled in plastic and not glass. The " original" ones came bottled in glass

Elderberry Juice Re-Juiced My Immune System

I had caught the flu and was having trouble shaking it off. So I felt I needed some immune system support. My brother who owns a health food store in Vermont suggested I get some elder berry. I did an Internet Search and the Sambucus elder berry felt to be more natural than others I found. Sambucus is concentrated and is best diluted. Most of the time I took it in warm water as directed 3 times a day. There were times when I didn't have time to heat the water and simply took a teaspoon of it straight. It works either way. In a few days I definitely felt better. I like the taste, too

Love it for the entire family!

We use elderberry syrup so often it's become quite expensive ( I used to buy "kids" version) but this one is **so** concentrated you only need a tiny amount. On the directions it's for kids older than 6 I believe, and adults of course. I have younger kids , 2.5 and almost 5, so I give them 1/2 a teaspoon (half the dose the directions give) and I have found it to be effective!!! This bottle is going to last me forever, and I love that I need SO LITTLE of it. It tastes great, strong. I give it them diluted in 1-2 teaspoon of water in one of those cough drop measuring cups- they think it's cool and special. Winter is almost over and they have been surprisingly healthy most of the winter, with only mild colds and they go full time to preschool. Love elderberry in general but this one is so cost efficient

EVERY WINTER i make sure to take a teaspoon to boost my immune system. I HAVE NOT HAD A FLU SHOT OR THE ACTUAL FLU IN OVER 10 YEARS. My partner, my neighbors, all got the flu in January but me I avoided contact with them and sipped my SAMBUCUS and I DID NOT GET SICK. My native american BROTHERS and SISTERS have used SAMBUCUS for thousands of years!!!

Scientific research says it is anti-viral. Try it.

I believe this works to inhibit the cold or flu virus. I felt the bug coming on a half dozen times so far this winter and have successfully avoided dealing with a full blown cold or flu. I use it in conjunction with Oil of Oregano, Colloidal Silver, chewing garlic and gargling with warm salt water. The next day the symptoms are GONE! Say what you want, but hey, you can't beat it if it works

Flue Stopper!!

Bought it based on the reviews. Thanks to everyone ,,, this is truly a great product!! I had the flue virus real good ,,, got N.A. Sambucus -took 2 tablespoons 3x a day --got results -fast!! Took no food/ water for an hour after dosage , last dosage just before bed time!! Also took 8 glasses of 8 oz of water during the day , that blew the bugs away!!Old trick! I am 76 years young,,,, neighborhood teenager ,,at heart ,,, very active,, but when i get the flue bugs the kids carry around these days, its a bummer!! This product gets right to it!! I am on 1 tablespoon 2x a day (after the initial dosage for 3 days ,,) , probably for a day or 2 more, this is alchohol free!! Yahoo! !! Buy it , for your kids,, your self,, Sambucus by Natures Answer is in my so called " Humble" opinion -excellent !! I am not related to the MFGR , just grateful for what they gave us!! Don't raise the price!

Good quality elderberry extract

This is one of the better quality elderberry products. The ones in the health food stores locally had apple juice as the main ingredient. Pure elderberry has many medical uses and has been documented in studies to speed the healing process for flu, bronchitus, and other bugs. I bought this because I had a winter bug and cough that I had been spending 2 weeks trying to get rid of. I tried every over the counter product I could find at the pharmacy. Nothing would break the congestion in my chest. I grew up in Western Pa and a lot of the old timers used to pick elderberries and make syrup and wine to save for winter ailments. I even remember the old country doc telling people to take some elderberry juice or wine for the flu. Well, long story short, I got this in on Friday and started taking 2 tablespoons every 4 hours. Within 48 hours my congestion had broken and I started to feel much better. Maybe it worked or maybe it was just time for the bug to leave, but either way, I will keep this in my cabinet for now on for the bug season

Has kept colds away from me for over a year, and counting!

It's been nearly a year since I've been taking this, on the advice of my doctor, and I haven't had a cold since. My kids are teachers, (exposed to kids), and my grandkids are always around me. I used to be a magnet for every germ out there. I take 10ml of this every nite mixed with water. Taste is similar to prune juice (a warrior's drink ðŸ˜‰). My four year old grandson doesn't object to the taste
