Burning Reflux
I purchased this after reading so many excellent reviews. I have long known of ginger's abilities to decrease nausea and aid digestion, so I thought I would give this a try. I took one capsule the day after receiving this when I had a bit of nausea. I ended up with horrible burning reflux throughout my esophagus and to the back of my throat. The best way to describe it is similar to the burning of a severe mint without the mint flavor, but all of the heat and pain. Needless to say, I was in extreme discomfort. So, this was a big disappointment for me. At least the price is super reasonable. I feel it was worth trying as everyone may have a different experience. I do have lupus, and gerd, and other chronic ailments. I was hopeful that this could be used as a natural replacement for a prescription medication for nausea and general digestive health. Others may have a better outcome. Certainly, many have written about them. I wanted to share one experience that was not great, but may be isolated. Since first writing this review I learned that I may have had a bad interaction with one of my medications. I also learned that people who take "blood thinners" (warfarin, lovenox, plavix, any NSAID, such as ibuprofen, aleve, or prescription NSAID), also those with diabetes, and those taking high blood pressure medication. According to my research, this works best as a preventative, particularly for pregnant women with nausea, and may also help individuals with chronic joint pain. Too bad it is not for me
