Almost every year I get a cold that just lingers. Then it settles in my lungs, becomes Bronchitis or an upper respiratory infection and I have to get antibiotics at that point and it finally goes away.
Well, this year I have the misfortune of having NO INSURANCE. Yay, me! LOL This means that any visit to any doctor is about $200 and I then have to pay $50 to $100 for any prescriptions. It just isn't possible for me at this time.
Well, I found a Celestial Seasonings tea that seemed to help, with echinacea and elderberry (about $2.50 in grocery stores, if you can find it). I read that elderberry is great for colds, and is found in Sambucol cough medicine. The tea was too weak for this cold, this year, and Sambucol (syrup, drops, and melts) all seemed to be too high.
I read the reviews of this product and other elderberry capsules that said they were helpful. I took 2 a day for about 2 to 3 days and "magically" the bronchial infection went away.
I am still coughing a bit and such but I have been abusing my immune system in other ways by staying up late (I am trying to complete another degree). Sleep has SUCH a large effect on immunity, I am sure I would completely well if I had been sleeping the way I should.
The product is inexpensive, you get a ton of it, and it works. Try this if you have healthcare and definitely take a chance if you DON'T. ---Mark's wif
