The Benefits of Echinacea, Cough Treatment

Echinacea is a popular herbal supplement that is often used to support immune health. Although some people believe that Echinacea can prevent or help with Cough the medical research on this topic is somewhat conflicting. Some studies have suggested that Echinacea may have beneficial effects on respiratory symptoms, including Cough by boosting immune function and reducing inflammation.

One study published in the journal Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine found that Echinacea extract reduced the duration and severity of Cough symptoms in children compared to a placebo. Another study published in the European Journal of Clinical Research found that a combination of Echinacea, sage, and peppermint oil may have a positive impact on Cough symptoms in adults.

However, it is important to note that other research has not found significant evidence to support the use of Echinacea for Cough prevention or treatment. For instance, a comprehensive review published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews concluded that there is little to no evidence supporting the efficacy of Echinacea in treating the common cold, which often includes Cough as a symptom.
