A chronic cough is defined as a persistent cough that lasts for more than eight weeks in adults and four weeks in children. Unlike an acute cough, which typically resolves within a few weeks and is often linked to temporary conditions like colds or the flu, a chronic cough can indicate an underlying health issue that may require medical attention. Common causes of chronic cough include asthma, allergies, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic bronchitis, or even environmental irritants such as smoke or pollution.
When dealing with a chronic cough, it's essential to evaluate the problem holistically. Observing patterns, accompanying symptoms, and any potential triggers can be instrumental in diagnosis. If you're experiencing a lingering cough, consulting a healthcare provider can help determine the root cause and the most effective treatment options, which may range from lifestyle adjustments and over-the-counter remedies to prescription medications or further diagnostic tests.
Tea Tree Oil is a natural essential oil derived from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia, a tree native to Australia. Recognized for its potent antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties, it has been widely used in skincare and wellness products for its ability to soothe irritations, treat acne, and promote overall skin health. The oil is often used in a diluted form or as an ingredient in creams, lotions, and shampoos, making it versatile for various applications.
In addition to its skincare benefits, Tea Tree Oil is also popular in household cleaning products due to its antimicrobial properties, which can help sanitize surfaces and reduce germs. It’s essential, however, to use Tea Tree Oil with caution, as it can cause skin irritation in some individuals when applied undiluted. Always conduct a patch test before widespread use and consult with a healthcare provider if you're unsure about incorporating it into your routine. Good antiseptic use
Excellent antiseptic. I also gargle with it during illness (2-3 drops in warm water). In the morning, I take a drop in a teaspoon of coconut oil and swish it in my mouth, and everything improves. It also slightly whitens my teeth. I spit it out to prevent clogging the sink. I apply a drop on my underwear as an antiseptic. I add a drop to the inhaler for dry cough inhalation.

Chronic cough treatment

Excellent oil, my favourite! I order it often. I use 4-5 drops in a glass of water for my chronic throat issues. It acts as a local antibiotic, and I rinse with it for gum and tooth pain. It’s also effective for mosquito bites. Just remember to take breaks between uses as it can dry the mucous membranes.
