We explored how glutathione, an important antioxidant, interacts with low temperature stress in grape seedlings treated with exogenous 24-epibrassinolide (EBR). In this study, grape seedlings were subjected to cold conditions (4°C) and then treated with EBR, alongside other substances, to evaluate their effects on growth and physiological responses over various time periods.
Notably, we observed that the seedlings treated with EBR showed an increase in glutathione levels by about 33.63%. This boost in glutathione might help in protecting the cells against oxidative damage caused by cold stress. Additionally, activities of key antioxidant enzymes, such as superoxide dismutase and peroxidase, were significantly enhanced in the EBR-treated plants.
While the treatment showed positive effects overall, it's essential to note that the study evaluated glutathione alongside other treatments, making it challenging to isolate its specific impact solely on cold stress. Despite this, the findings suggest that glutathione plays a supportive role in helping grape seedlings withstand cold temperatures.

The rare supplement that has significantly improved my quality of life. With my job, I frequently encounter patients and usually catch an aggressive cold each year. I switched to reduced glutathione two years ago after a study about its bioavailability. During one of the worst flu seasons, I remained free of cold symptoms, despite not changing anything else. While it's not definitive evidence, it is notable to me. This product, affordable and effective, has made a significant impact on my health; I haven't had so much as a sniffle despite working long hours in stressful conditions. It has earned a permanent place in our household.

Knee pain relief

Surprising results! I purchased this glutathione to see if it would help me recover more quickly from a nasty cold bug since it's the mother antioxidant. To my amazement, my right knee, which had been in great pain for over two years, is no longer hurting at all! I had to research glutathione and knee pain to see if there was a connection, as it's the only thing I changed. It seems to aid arthritis, which I never considered for my knee pain; I thought it was just from my injury. I even went shopping for hours with my daughter on her birthday, something that would have once been very painful. I'm still in shock and grateful to NOW for this incredible product!

Frequently Asked Questions
Cold is a term that refers to a state of low temperature, often associated with a perceptibly chilly environment or the sensation of being cool to the touch. Scientifically, cold is relative to the presence and movement of heat, which is a measure of energy within matter. In everyday terms, we experience cold through weather changes, such as during winter months, and it can also be described in the context of specific temperature ranges – for example, temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) generally signify freezing conditions, which can impact outdoor activities, personal comfort, and various ecological systems.
Moreover, the sensation of cold is not solely dependent on temperature; factors like humidity and wind chill can enhance the feeling of coldness. When discussing cold in terms of human health, prolonged exposure to cold conditions can lead to hypothermia or frostbite if body heat is not effectively maintained. Hence, it's crucial to dress appropriately and take necessary precautions during colder months to prevent adverse effects. Understanding the concept of cold can help individuals better prepare for seasonal changes and ensure their comfort and safety.
L-glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that plays a crucial role in cellular health by protecting cells from oxidative stress and damage caused by free radicals. It is a tripeptide composed of three amino acids: cysteine, glutamine, and glycine. Naturally produced in the body, L-glutathione is found in higher concentrations in the liver, where it aids in detoxification processes, immune system function, and the metabolism of various compounds. As we age or face various environmental stresses, our body's levels of glutathione may decrease, leading to potential health implications.
