The Benefits of Grape seed extract, Cataract Treatment
Grape seed extract has been the subject of several studies investigating its potential benefits for Cataract prevention or treatment. However, it is worth noting that the medical research on this topic is limited and inconclusive. As of the current available data, there is insufficient evidence to support the claim that Grape seed extract can effectively prevent or help with cataracts.
A study published in the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology in 2010 examined the potential protective effects of Grape seed extract on cataracts induced by oxidative stress in rats. The results suggested that Grape seed extract might have a protective effect against oxidative stress-induced cataracts, but further research is needed to confirm these findings and assess its efficacy in humans.
Another study published in Molecular Vision in 2011 investigated the effect of Grape seed extract on the progression of Cataract in diabetic rats. The study observed that Grape seed extract supplementation slowed down the progression of diabetic cataracts. However, similar to the previous study, these findings cannot be directly extrapolated to human subjects without further investigation.
