Zinc protects heart function in OSA
We explored how zinc affects heart function in the context of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), specifically focusing on cases of intermittent hypoxia (IH). In a detailed study using male rats, researchers set up different groups: a control group and one that underwent 10 weeks of exercise training. Half of the rats in both groups were exposed to IH conditions to simulate the effects of sleep apnea.

The results were eye-opening. Rats that experienced IH showed notable impairment in their heart's left ventricular function, characterized by reduced ejection fraction and increased inflammation. However, when treated with zinc, these negative effects were significantly countered. Notably, those who exercised and received zinc treatment displayed improved heart function and antioxidant capabilities compared to their counterparts that did not receive zinc.

On the flip side, exercise alone did not provide the same protective benefits when zinc was absent. The findings suggest that zinc is essential not only for the heart's protection against the damaging effects of IH but also enhances the benefits of physical exercise. This research indicates the importance of zinc in potentially managing heart health in individuals suffering from sleep apnea.

Magnesium's role in sleep apnea
We aimed to uncover the relationship between magnesium levels and sleep quality, particularly focusing on sleep apnea. Our study analyzed data from a large group of adults aged 20 and older, using a well-structured method to assess magnesium levels and the prevalence of sleep issues.

We found a notable connection between lower magnesium levels, measured as the magnesium depletion score (MDS), and the likelihood of experiencing sleep apnea. Specifically, individuals with higher MDS levels were significantly more likely to report sleep apnea, showing over three times the odds compared to those with adequate magnesium levels.

Interestingly, our research did not link magnesium deficiency to other sleep problems like insomnia or restless legs syndrome, suggesting a more complex relationship with sleep apnea alone. Additionally, we noticed that older adults with depressive symptoms showed a tendency toward excessive sleep rather than insufficient sleep.

While our findings highlight the association between magnesium deficiency and sleep apnea, they also point towards the potential of adequate magnesium intake in reducing this risk. This emphasizes the importance of maintaining proper magnesium levels for better sleep quality, especially in those at higher risk for sleep apnea.

Relaxation improved

I recommend this product, which I bought at a promotional price. Although the composition did not initially impress me, my hamster took to it! I take 1 tablet in the evening, sometimes 2, and in the morning, I have malate or glycinate. While I take high doses of Vitamin D daily, I find zinc a nice addition. This magnesium complex truly aids my relaxation and helps me sleep well, unlike other chelated compounds I've tried. I found myself so satisfied that I bought another tub. I don't take them during the day, as they make me sleepy. Note that I experience slight relaxation of my stool with 3 capsules, which I mix with other magnesium types.

The jar is large and contains 250 tablets, which lasts a long time. It acts as a laxative for me, but I recommend it. My sleep has grown stronger, and I rarely wake in the night. I completely agree with the earlier review.

Quality of sleep improved

Good value for money! Compared to prices in Dubai, these supplements are much more affordable. I have tried magnesium during stressful periods where I struggled to sleep, and I've always been pleased with the results. Just remember to combine it with a vitamin B complex for optimal effectiveness. I did have some concerns about the colour of certain pills, as some appeared uneven, but overall, the product is packed well and has a pleasant smell.

I found that this particular Magnesium did not suit me, so I donated it to someone else. He mentioned that it helped him a great deal; he felt calmer and noted an improvement in his sleep, particularly in regard to his sleep apnea.

To support my heart and muscles, I began taking magnesium at night instead of in the morning. This adjustment resulted in significantly better sleep, leaving me feeling more rested in the morning. I wholeheartedly recommend this approach!
