Successful Pantry Demousification

I saw evidence this past winter of mice in my pantry, but when I finally emptied it all out this summer it was an unspeakable horror. In addition to the generous use of stainless steel scrubbers to plug up or at least reduce the many holes for plumbing and electrical wire, I sanitized the pantry with bleach water and then sprayed this peppermint oil in water on every surface mixed at two caps per 12 oz. water. The following night, the mice sent a scout or two to investigate possible re-entry, and I fought back with more spray and cotton balls doused with 100% peppermint oil at exactly those points of evident interest. The mice made only one more scouting foray, which I answered by redoubling my cotton ball and spray assault. After that the mice put up the white flag and so far have made themselves scarce. I suspect they will make another attempt if I let my defenses down, so I plan to renew my cotton balls and spray every few weeks through this fall and into the winter to demonstrate my resolve. I will prevail! This pantry is mine

Spiders hate Peppermint, but I love it!

I am over run with spiders and ants this year. I had the spiders first and they were biting me. I read on another post that spiders hate peppermint. I love Now products that Amazon has and got a BIG bottle. I put a couple drops on a cotton make up pad and put it on my window ledge and the corner of the door ways. I mixed some with water and sprayed around their spots outside. I did not want to kill them, just set boundaries for my house. It has worked very well, although I have to add more drops on the cotton pads once in awhile. I tried the same with the ants when they came. No such luck.....I love Now Essential Oils. They are very reasonable in price and come packaged very well so I don't worry about breakage in shipment

Essential oil to repel non-essential mice

$700 worth of electrical damage to my truck later, I decided to try a solution recommended by my truck dealer. This is the third time mice have gotten into one of our vehicles and done extensive damage. Anyway, he suggested soaking an old sock in peppermint oil and tying it onto something in the engine compartment. I was afraid of starting an engine fire. My solution was to purchase a bag of cotton balls and two steel mesh tea balls. I've placed two cotton balls in each mesh tea ball, saturated the balls with essential oil and fastened the tea ball chain to a piece of metal engine housing with a nylon zip tie. I re-saturate the cotton balls once a week. On the inside of my vehicle I have a depleted cardboard air freshener which I re-saturate with essential oil as well. So far so good. The interior of my truck smells really good. Truck is garaged. Remains to be seen though whether mice will nest as the weather gets colder

Spiders, Waspies & Rodents BE GONE!! — As I sit back and breeeathe easy;-))

Ok! So first time Peppermint Oil purchaser here! I've long used essential oils in my diffuser, but never tried this scent. The reason I did was for some terrifying reason we suddenly had an influx of SPIDERS in our house! EEEK!! As well as some nasty wasps who took up residence. (is this a sign of something? I hope not :/ ) Anyhow after my usual look it up and figure out a natural way internet research, answer kept coming back to Peppermint oil. Seems rodents and bugs like creatures despise the scent. Who knew??! So I looked around on Amazon in search of the best deal, best reviews. Settled on ordering NOW's brand as seemed most were pleased, plus the amount I could get for the price. Working great! Not a diluted scent, but full force. Online people had said to get a squirt bottle, mix with Peppermint oil, etc. I did this and it's working like a charm... I fully saturate a cotton ball with the oil, then put in a little plastic bag to soak up more. Then I sit the cotton balls in areas I have seen spiders, as well as in windows sills to almost make a seal point for DO NOT COME IN HERE. It's working! All natural, only side effect a lovely fresh scent. Giving my seal of approval on this one :)

Happy and Headache Free!

I use A LOT of essential oils. In addition to the NOW Foods essential oils I have tried DoTerra, Plant Therapy, Plant Guru, Kis and more. NOW just rocks. Their oils are very reasonably priced and excellent quality. The scent is strong and true to it's original source. I did my research, and NOW Foods has a good reputation for staying aware of their suppliers' performance accomplished for quality plants. I have used my NOW peppermint oil in my diffuser and topically with great success! It is life-saving in my diffuser for nausea! My favorite and super simple topical recipe contains peppermint oil and is one I use for tension and sinus headaches. Placed in a roller bottle it works wonders! (Please be sure to dilute with a carrier oil for this particular recipe, and avoid areas very close to the eyes.) Headache Relief Blend for 10ml roller bottle -15 drops peppermint oil -10 drops lavender oil -Fill remainder of bottle with carrier oil (Coconut, Sweet Almond, Sesame or Jojoba are my favorites for this recipe

PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL DOES REPEL MICE!!!

WOW!! I've had a TERRIBLE problem with mice getting into the basement despite having three cats!! I bought a spray bottle and used water mixed with the required amount of peppermint oil. (IT GOES A LONG WAY!) I used the spray AROUND the outside of the house along the foundation and just did this TWICE!! NO MORE MICE entering!! The mice inside were all caught with traps, and I also sprayed peppermint oil inside to keep ANY mice OUT!! This is amazing!! My husband then used it in our out-building and around the car engine and tractor engine!! YAY!! No more MOUSE NESTS!! This stuff is truly AMAZING!!

Helps My Sinus Headaches

Great size and value. I use this to treat my sinus headaches. I dab a bit onto a cotton ball and massage it into my temples. I also dab a bit under my nose to clear up my stuffy nose. My nose gets clogged up during allergy season (even with medications) and this usually results in daily headaches. It really alleviates symptoms fast. The oil works by helping blood flow, which is usually the cause of sinus headaches. I don't like that this bottle doesn't have a plastic neck inside to ease the flow. Instead, it's a pretty big opening that could be bad if it spills, but I know a dropper would add to the cost. Adding a dropper was hard via Amazon as I didn't see any affordable solutions after shipping was factored in. Luckily, my friend sells essential oils and I bought droppers from her (the oil is 10x more expensive from her). There are tons of other uses for non food grade peppermint oil. You can use it to deodorize a bathroom, use a cotton ball or used up newspaper to dab some on and drop into the trash bin to refresh it, or even as a car freshener. I read soaking some in a cork coaster is a great DIY car air freshener. Look up pinterest posts for more ideas! Have fun

The remedy for mice in the cabinet was to mix a teaspoon of oil in a cup of water, wet the cottonballs, one at a time and place them in the cabinet, one in each drawer or separate storage area. Not only is it a bit refreshing, but I have no mice problems at my work station, none! While my associates who have never had problems are now bothered by the little creatures. I offered to share my remedy, but they think I am an old person with crazy snake oil treatments from yesteryear and they think they should be able to find a chemical or mouse traps to dispose of them. I have no idea what else you might do with the product but appreciate the "old person" who shared their successes using it to get rid of mice

WONDERFUL brand. High quality

This brand is one of the best brands out there in my opinion. I have compared it to several of the multilevel marketing oil's that my friends are always trying to push on me. They were exactly the same. I especially love the peppermint. The oil is minty of course, but it smells a little sweet as well and fresh. So I actually get lots of compliments on the smell. I combine peppermint and lavender in my diffuser And get compliments on the combination all the time. I use it in my office and I have co-workers who will just stop by my office when they are having a stressful day. Lol. They say my office is the most peaceful place in our building. NOW foods is just a really great brand. I trust every oil that I have purchased from them and have never been disappointed

The real thing!

Migraines. I've had them for over 35 years. Peppermint oil does not cure them. It doesn't take them away. But it does soothe the headache and when I'm in the middle of one, I'll do anything to make myself comfortable. Why peppermint is used by so many for this purpose is a mystery to me, but it may be the menthol/coolness of the scent. I didn't want a cheap fragrance oil or an essential oil that is "watered" down. I wanted the true oil with as much strength and staying power I could find. This NOW brand does all that. I bought a diffuser to help spread it around the room, but even a few drops on a cotton ball and placed nearby works fine. I mixed some with water in a spray bottle and did all my baseboards to help repell pests, as well. I can't wait to get some lavender next
