Saccharomyces boulardii improves liver health
Oral administration of Saccharomyces boulardii ameliorates carbon tetrachloride-induced liver fibrosis in rats via reducing intestinal permeability and modulating gut microbial composition.
We explored the effects of Saccharomyces boulardii on liver fibrosis caused by carbon tetrachloride in 34 male Wistar rats. The rats were divided into different groups, including controls and those receiving treatment.
Our findings showed that S. boulardii reduced liver damage markers and levels of inflammatory substances in the treated group. This beneficial effect was linked to improved intestinal health and changes in gut bacteria. Overall, we observed that administering this probiotic can enhance liver function and slow down fibrosis progression.

Saccharomyces boulardii reduces liver fat
Mitigates Fructose-Induced Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver in Rats.
We explored how Saccharomyces boulardii might alleviate non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in rats suffering from fructose-induced liver damage. Thirty rats were divided into control, fatty liver, and treatment groups.
Our findings revealed that the rats receiving S. boulardii showed lower levels of harmful substances and improved liver health indicators compared to those without treatment. Notably, there was less fat buildup in their livers.
This suggests that S. boulardii could serve as a promising way to protect the liver from fatty damage linked to high fructose diets.

Saccharomyces boulardii prevents liver injury
Saccharomyces boulardii prevention of the hepatic injury induced by Salmonella Enteritidis infection.
We explored how Saccharomyces boulardii can protect the liver from damage caused by Salmonella Enteritidis. In a mouse study, we saw that pretreating with S. boulardii drastically reduced the movement of harmful bacteria to the liver by 96%, preventing significant hepatic injury. S. boulardii also minimized inflammatory responses that would typically harm liver tissue after infection. These findings suggest that S. boulardii could be a valuable tool for guarding against liver injury due to Salmonella infections in future treatments.

Rapid health recovery
634 people found this helpful
Healed my food allergies, IBS, autoimmune disease, arthritis, Candida infections, and liver disease. After suffering from glyphosate poisoning due to consuming GMO and non-organic foods, my health deteriorated. I experienced severe symptoms including skin issues, recurrent infections, and low energy, with my liver and pancreas failing. Doctors were unable to help, suggesting reducing sugar intake which proved ineffective. I began taking probiotic yeast alongside various supplements, and within two weeks, my health dramatically improved. My allergies subsided, liver pain vanished, and my gut began healing. I now recommend avoiding glyphosate-containing foods and supporting organic farmers.

Effective against diarrhoea
Much is already known about this unique biological probiotic, which has been shown to have beneficial properties for the gastrointestinal tract and is safe based on clinical studies. Saccharomycetes boulardii strengthen immunity and quickly relieve acute diarrhoea. These yeasts effectively combat antibiotic-associated diarrhoea and promote gentle restoration of intestinal microflora. They also improve liver steatosis, as their use is associated with beneficial effects in diabetes and obesity, reducing the risk of coronary heart disease.

Probiotics may improve cirrhosis outcomes
Effect of probiotics on hemodynamic changes and complications associated with cirrhosis: A pilot randomized controlled trial.
We investigated whether probiotics could positively influence patients with cirrhosis. In our randomized placebo-controlled trial involving 40 participants, we found that those taking probiotics experienced improvements in circulation and symptoms associated with cirrhosis.
Specifically, patients showed reduced cardiac output, increased vascular resistance, and better liver function. Those receiving probiotics also had fewer complications, such as ascites and hepatic encephalopathy.
Overall, our findings suggest that probiotics may offer a beneficial effect on the management of cirrhosis.

S. boulardii protects liver health
Saccharomyces boulardii ameliorates clarithromycin- and methotrexate-induced intestinal and hepatic injury in rats.
We explored how Saccharomyces boulardii impacts rats treated with clarithromycin and methotrexate, both of which can cause liver and intestinal injury. In our study, rats receiving these drugs showed increased gut transit and marked oxidative damage.
However, those treated with S. boulardii experienced protection from these harmful effects. The probiotic not only improved antioxidant levels but also reduced inflammation in the liver and intestines.
These findings suggest that S. boulardii may serve as a useful addition to chemotherapy, helping to safeguard liver health during treatment.
We systematically reviewed studies on the effects of Saccharomyces boulardii (SB) in treating liver diseases. Our analysis included sixteen studies, comprising ten animal experiments and six randomized controlled trials. We found that SB effectively lowered the severity of cirrhosis symptoms and improved liver health metrics.
Additionally, SB significantly reduced inflammatory markers and gene expressions associated with liver injury in various models. It also showed benefits in gut health by altering microbiota composition and enhancing barrier function. Overall, SB displays potential for supporting liver health, especially in cirrhosis and metabolic dysfunction.
