Vitamin C improves cold tolerance
We explored the effects of ascorbic acid, commonly known as vitamin C, on cold tolerance in tomato seedlings. In our study, we discovered that applying vitamin C significantly boosts the seedlings' ability to handle cold stress.

By enhancing the antioxidant defense system, vitamin C treatment increased the enzyme activity in the seedlings' leaves. Additionally, it raised levels of important compounds such as proline, sugar, and abscisic acid, all of which play crucial roles in plant stress responses.

Our observations showed that vitamin C also protects the photosynthesis system of tomato seedlings. This implies that it helps maintain chlorophyll function, which is critical for the plant's overall health, especially under cold conditions.

Moreover, we found that vitamin C treatments led to increased expression of genes linked to antioxidant enzymes and cold response mechanisms. Overall, our findings suggest that exogenous vitamin C is a beneficial approach to improve cold tolerance in tomatoes and may provide helpful insights for farmers looking to cultivate hardier varieties during colder months.

Vitamin C’s mixed efficacy on colds
We examined the effectiveness of sodium ascorbate, commonly known as vitamin C, for treating colds and pneumonia. While high doses above 1 g/day didn’t prevent colds for the general public, they did show significant benefits for those engaged in heavy exercise, reducing cold incidence by half.

Regular use of 1 g or more daily also helped lessen cold severity by 15%. When taken after cold symptoms appeared, higher doses of 6-8 g/day effectively reduced the duration of colds. However, findings on pneumonia were mixed, suggesting that while there may be some benefit for certain groups, more research is essential for broader applications.

The whole family takes this powder, and it is excellently absorbed by the body. When taken according to the instructions, as I do, there are no side effects. It's especially effective during the cold season, and in case of illness, a substantial dose is advisable. If I take 1/3 of a teaspoon once a day, then in illness, I take a whole teacup, and all symptoms vanish after three days. I've tested it on myself and my child repeatedly. We take it in the morning after meals, diluted in half a glass of water.

Absolutely superb! At the first symptoms of the cold, I took it myself and gave some to my husband and daughter. The next day, the cold was gone! For prevention, we took it for another three days. One day, my daughter exhibited some symptoms, so I gave her ascorbate, and she improved significantly the following day. After three more days, her runny nose disappeared. I've already recommended it to everyone. Neighbours and friends tried it during their illnesses, and they were all amazed at how quickly they recovered and have asked me to order more for them! Definitely recommend!

Powder form benefits

I regularly order this convenient and affordable vitamin C. I feel a positive impact on my immunity; the moment I notice cold symptoms, I take a double dose and start to improve. I appreciate the powdered form, as my four-year-old son won’t take vitamins in pills. Dissolved in fruit juice, it works wonders for his immune system.
