Spirulina shows promise for arthritis
We investigated the effects of spirulina platensis on collagen-induced arthritis in rats. Over 25 days, treatment with spirulina significantly reduced peripheral sensitization and improved motor function.

It also demonstrated neuroprotective effects by lowering the accumulation of certain proteins in the spinal cord, which is linked to nerve protection from inflammation.

Our findings highlight the potential of spirulina in managing symptoms of arthritis, although further research is needed to confirm its effectiveness in autoimmune disorders in humans.
We examined the impact of C-Phycocyanin (C-Pc), derived from Spirulina, on Multiple Sclerosis in a mouse model. By administering varying doses of C-Pc alongside a standard treatment, we observed notable improvements in reducing inflammation and preserving spinal cord tissue.

The results indicated that C-Pc positively influenced health outcomes by modulating genes related to remyelination and protecting nerve cells. Overall, our findings suggest that C-Pc shows promise as a beneficial treatment for autoimmune conditions like MS.

Spirulina enhances liver protection
We examined how spirulina can help reduce liver damage caused by methotrexate, a drug used in cancer and autoimmune disorders. In our study with 32 male rats, we divided them into groups to assess the effects of spirulina versus methotrexate alone.

We recorded significant liver injury and immune system suppression after methotrexate treatment. However, when we pre-treated the rats with spirulina, we observed improvements in liver and spleen health, including decreased inflammation and liver enzyme levels. Spirulina also boosted immune function, highlighting its potential benefits for those affected by the side effects of methotrexate.

This remarkable algae helps slim my figure and beautify my skin. I’ve ordered it multiple times. It helped my boyfriend lose weight after prolonged inactivity, and I lost 3 kg in 20 days. It’s effective; just take three in the morning on an empty stomach with water for noticeable results.

Perfectly! I am ordering this Spirulina for the second time. After my first course, I could forget about intestinal problems. However, I have started taking it again due to feeling heaviness. It’s best to begin with 1-2 tablets at a time and gradually increase to 3 tablets to avoid intestinal disorder.

C-Phycocyanin shows remyelination potential
We explored how C-Phycocyanin (C-PC) and Phycocyanobilin (PCB) might help in remyelination, particularly for conditions like Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and ischemic stroke.

Our findings in animal models suggest that C-PC can support white matter recovery. The study also examined how PCB promotes recovery in strokes by influencing regulatory T cells and reducing inflammation.

While the initial results are promising, more clinical trials are necessary to truly understand their potential in human patients.

We aimed to explore whether oral administration of C-Phycocyanin and Phycocyanobilin, derived from spirulina, can improve conditions in models of autoimmune encephalomyelitis.

Our findings showed that these compounds significantly improved clinical signs and motor function in treated rats. Additionally, they helped reduce markers of oxidative stress and neuroinflammation.

Importantly, this suggests that spirulina-based treatments could enhance quality of life for those with conditions like multiple sclerosis, representing a promising avenue for developing new therapies.

Spirulina aids type 1 diabetes treatment
We explored how spirulina extracts might protect against the harmful effects of a type 1 diabetes model. Our research looked at how these extracts impacted both cell cultures and diabetic rats.

We observed that spirulina significantly reduced cell damage caused by inflammatory cytokines, lowering nitric oxide production, and suppressing apoptosis. In diabetic mice, spirulina improved insulin levels and reduced glucose, indicating a protective role for pancreatic β-cells.

Overall, spirulina shows promise as a supportive treatment for type 1 diabetes, due to its antioxidant properties.

Reduced hunger

I've been taking Spirulina for over a month, two tablets on an empty stomach. I initially ordered it to combat snack cravings during work. By week two, I noticed a complete loss of my desire to snack, resulting in smaller meal portions. I drink more water as my body craves it. I've even forgotten about breakfast and lost 1 kg, presumably due to reduced indulgences in sweets.

After switching to Spirulina, I aimed to tackle my hair loss. I've tried many supplements, but Spirulina makes me feel lighter and more energetic without my constant worry about hair loss. Although six tablets a day are challenging, I'm committed to this product for the future.

Hunger reduction

I’ve been pleased with the thyroid support and weight loss from this Spirulina. After consistent usage, my TSH levels decreased from 3.5 to 2.45. Taking it before meals significantly reduces my appetite, which I find very beneficial. Additionally, I can use it as a skin mask by mixing crushed tablets with water. Previously, I tried powder but preferred capsules. While the dosage is consistent, Now Foods has become my favourite brand. It effectively curbs my hunger and boosts my energy levels!

Spirulina may prolong MS remission
We examined 230 patients with multiple sclerosis in the picturesque Transcarpathian region. The study revealed that both men and women were impacted similarly, with a higher prevalence near the Carpathian Mountains among individuals averaging 35 years old. Notably, we found that spirulina intake appears to help extend remission periods for those with this autoimmune disorder. While more research is needed, these promising results highlight spirulina's potential benefits for managing symptoms in multiple sclerosis patients.
