Myo-inositol enhances vitamin D effects
The impact of vitamin D on thyroid autoimmunity and hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis activity in myo-inositol-treated and myo-inositol-naïve women with autoimmune thyroiditis: A pilot study.
Our study aimed to explore the impact of myo-inositol treatment on thyroid autoimmunity in women with autoimmune thyroiditis. We included groups of women who had been on myo-inositol for a while and those who hadn’t. For six months, we observed how vitamin D supplementation interacted with myo-inositol in affecting thyroid health and immune responses.
We found that among participants taking myo-inositol, the addition of vitamin D significantly improved insulin sensitivity and led to better outcomes regarding thyroid antibodies. Specifically, women who were already on myo-inositol showed a greater reduction in thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin antibodies when vitamin D was added to their regimen.
Interestingly, the effects of vitamin D were less noticeable in women who weren't on myo-inositol. These individuals did not exhibit the same improvements in thyroid function or antibodies. Overall, the findings suggest that myo-inositol might enhance the benefits of vitamin D, indicating a potential synergistic effect between these two agents in managing autoimmune thyroiditis.

Effects of different supplements on Hashimoto's thyroiditis: a systematic review and network meta-analysis.
We aimed to understand the impact of Myo-inositol on thyroid autoantibody levels in patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT). Our analysis included data from a systematic review of several case-control studies that explored various dietary supplements, particularly focusing on inositol's effectiveness.
Our findings revealed that while selenium supplementation significantly reduced thyroid autoantibodies, the effects of Myo-inositol were not as promising. In fact, Myo-inositol, as well as Vitamin D both alone and in combination with selenium, did not produce significant reductions in either thyroid peroxidase autoantibodies (TPOAb) or thyroglobulin autoantibodies (TgAb).
This lack of efficacy suggests that Myo-inositol may not be an effective standalone treatment for lowering autoantibody levels in autoimmune disorders like HT. Therefore, we recommend that patients focus on selenium as a more impactful supplement during their treatment journey.

Inositol's impact on autoimmune thyroid
Investigating the effect of combined use of selenium and Myo-inositol supplements on thyroid function and autoimmune characteristics in thyroid disorders: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
We set out to explore the effects of a combination of selenium and inositol on thyroid function and autoimmune characteristics in people with thyroid disorders. Through our systematic search spanning numerous databases, we reviewed studies published from 2007 to 2022, focusing on how these supplements influence thyroid health.
The results were somewhat mixed. While our findings indicated a modest increase in levels of Triiodothyronine (T3) after using both supplements, this change was not statistically significant. However, we did observe a significant increase in Thyroxine (T4) levels and a notable decrease in Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), which suggests potential positive outcomes. It's important to note that the levels of Anti-Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOAb) did not show any significant change, and the overall improvements in T3 levels were not enough to substantiate a clear benefit.
Overall, our investigation reveals that adding inositol to selenium might not dramatically alter the thyroid's autoimmune activity. Still, the decrease in TSH and increase in T4 could hint at potential benefits that warrant further exploration. Given the limited number of studies in this area, more research will be essential to fully understand how inositol may affect autoimmune disorders related to thyroid health.

Our exploration focused on how Myoinositol, often known as Myo, impacts autoimmune disorders, particularly autoimmune thyroiditis. We learned that Myo plays a crucial role in the body's thyroid function by aiding in the production of thyroid hormones and regulating iodine, which is essential in this process.
Interestingly, when Myo was combined with Selenium in treatment, patients with subclinical hypothyroidism showed significant decreases in thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels. Additionally, levels of antithyroid autoantibodies also dropped, which is promising for those battling autoimmune thyroid issues.
However, it is important to note that the study did not exclusively isolate the effect of Myoinositol, as the results were observed in conjunction with Selenium. Therefore, while the findings are encouraging, we cannot definitively claim that Myo alone yields the same benefits in managing autoimmune disorders.

Sexual Function and Depressive Symptoms in Young Women with Euthyroid Hashimoto's Thyroiditis Receiving Vitamin D, Selenomethionine and Myo-Inositol: A Pilot Study.
We explored the effects of myo-inositol as part of a treatment regimen for young women with Hashimoto's thyroiditis—an autoimmune disorder. This study primarily compared the sexual functioning and depressive symptoms of women who were untreated versus those receiving various supplements including vitamin D and selenomethionine alongside myo-inositol.
While all treatment groups showed improved sexual functioning and well-being compared to the untreated women, we observed that the greatest benefits came from those receiving vitamin D. Additionally, there were no significant differences in sexual functioning and depressive symptoms between the myo-inositol and selenomethionine treatment groups.
As a result, we must note that myo-inositol's isolated effect was not clearly determined in this study due to its combination with other treatments. Therefore, while myo-inositol is seen as part of a broader therapy, its specific influence on autoimmune disorders warrants further investigation.

Great supplement! After methylprednisolone, my husband's cholesterol increased significantly, leading to a prescription for statins, which I wanted to avoid at his age (40). It seems that this increase is common for some people after the treatment. We decided to try this supplement. Not only did it normalise cholesterol, but it also proved beneficial for multiple sclerosis patients by aiding nerve impulse transmission. After a month, his total cholesterol dropped from 7.5 to 6.5, and low-density cholesterol from 5.4 to 4.7. Although still high, this progress is encouraging. He also sleeps better, is more focused, can work longer hours, and is less anxious. An excellent result! I plan on taking the supplement as well for my own nerves and well-being.

For two weeks of taking it, I have felt calmer and enjoyed excellent sleep; prior to this, I struggled with insomnia. Thanks to this miraculous supplement for my strong nerves!
An autoimmune disorder occurs when the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own healthy cells and tissues, believing them to be foreign invaders, such as bacteria or viruses. This reaction can lead to inflammation, tissue damage, and impaired function of the affected organs. There are over 80 known autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and type 1 diabetes, each with its own specific symptoms and treatment options. The exact cause of these disorders is still unclear, but a combination of genetic, environmental, and hormonal factors is believed to play a role in their development.
Diagnosis of autoimmune disorders often involves a combination of physical examinations, assessment of symptoms, blood tests, and imaging studies to evaluate organ involvement. Treatment typically focuses on managing symptoms and controlling the immune response using medications such as corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, and biologics. In addition to medication, lifestyle modifications, such as stress management and a balanced diet, can be beneficial in managing symptoms. If you suspect you have an autoimmune condition, it's important to consult a healthcare professional for proper evaluation and tailored treatment options.
Inositol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and the structural integrity of cell membranes. It is a member of the B-vitamin complex and exists in several forms, with myo-inositol being the most prevalent in the human body. Inositol is found in various foods, including fruits, beans, grains, and nuts, and it can also be synthesized by the body from glucose. It is often marketed as a supplement for various health benefits, including mental health support, particularly for conditions like anxiety and depression, and is studied for its potential role in managing polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Research suggests that inositol may help in alleviating symptoms associated with these health issues by enhancing insulin sensitivity and regulating hormonal balance. While it is generally considered safe for consumption, individuals should consult with healthcare professionals before starting any new supplement regimen, especially if they have existing health conditions or are taking other medications. As with any supplement, the effectiveness can vary from person to person, and understanding the underlying scientific evidence can guide informed choices.
Based on user reviews, the timeframe for seeing results from this supplement for autoimmune disorders varies among individuals. Several reviewers noted noticeable improvements within two weeks of starting the regimen, particularly regarding sleep and mood enhancements. For instance, one reviewer reported better sleep and clearer thinking by the second week Read Review. Another user shared that after just two weeks, they observed calming effects and excellent sleep Read Review.
Users have also mentioned positive changes within a month, such as improvements in overall well-being and specific symptoms related to their conditions. For example, after a month, one user noted a significant reduction in cholesterol levels and enhanced cognitive function Read Review. However, results can vary significantly, and some users may experience longer timelines to see substantial benefits. It’s essential for individuals to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and monitoring as they incorporate this supplement into their routine.
While there is some research investigating the potential effects of Myo-inositol on autoimmune disorders, the overall findings regarding its effectiveness are not particularly robust. For instance, a study focusing on Hashimoto's thyroiditis found that Myo-inositol, when used alone or combined with other supplements like Vitamin D, did not significantly lower thyroid autoantibody levels, which are crucial in managing autoimmune conditions [1]. Another study indicated that while Myo-inositol might support thyroid function when paired with selenium, it did not show clear benefits in altering autoimmune activity or improving thyroid hormone levels significantly on its own [2].
Furthermore, while Myo-inositol was part of treatment regimes that included other supplements such as vitamin D and selenium, its individual impact remains unclear. For example, in a study involving euthyroid women with Hashimoto's, improvements in sexual functioning were noted, but isolating the effect of Myo-inositol was challenging due to the combination with other treatments [3]. Thus, while there is some evidence that Myo-inositol can play a supportive role in treatment regimes, particularly when used alongside other supplements, it does not currently stand as a widely endorsed treatment for autoimmune disorders based on existing research.
Based on user reviews, many individuals have reported significant improvements in a variety of symptoms after using this supplement, particularly regarding sleep quality, mood enhancement, and headache relief. Users detailing experiences with atherosclerosis noted profound benefits, such as reduced headaches and better sleep, leading to an overall improved outlook on life. One reviewer mentioned that their mother, after starting the supplement, felt much more cheerful and revitalized, which is echoed by several other users sharing similar experiences of enhanced well-being and energy levels (Read ReviewRead Review).
Another noteworthy improvement reported was regarding anxiety and insomnia. One user indicated that after just two weeks of taking the supplement, they experienced a decrease in anxiety and better sleep, which helped with irritability and cognitive clarity (Read Review). Additionally, a review mentioned notable benefits for those with panic attacks, while others appreciated improvements in conditions associated with insulin resistance and even skin clarity (Read ReviewRead Review). As with any supplement, it's essential to remember that individual results may vary.
Based on user reviews, many individuals have reported positive experiences when combining this supplement with other supplements to help manage autoimmune disorders. Another user highlighted the benefits of pairing this supplement with GABA, stating that it helped eliminate panic attacks related to autonomic nervous system disorders, allowing them to feel healthier and more normal Read Review.
Moreover, reviews indicate that the combination of this supplement with vitamin B and magnesium has led to enhanced sleep and reduced anxiety levels for users suffering from stress and sleep disorders Read Review. In general, users appear satisfied with the synergistic effects of combining this supplement with others, emphasizing the importance of personalized approaches to their health regimen Read Review. As always, it’s wise for individuals to consult with healthcare professionals before starting any new supplement combinations.
Users report varying doses of Inositol for treating autoimmune disorders, often in conjunction with other supplements. For instance, one user noted their mother was taking choline and inositol together, along with DMAE, which resulted in significant improvements in her condition, suggesting a favorable combination for those with similar issues Read Review. Another user mentioned using four capsules daily to enhance insulin sensitivity in a type 1 diabetes case, emphasizing a structured approach to dosing based on specific health needs Read Review.
It appears that users are finding success with dosages that align with their health objectives, often experimenting to determine what works best. I loved it! Choline and inositol pills belong to the vitamin B group. I took them alongside a vitamin B supplement for stress from 21 Century Company. The quality is excellent from Now Foods. Although the capsules have a slight plastic smell, it's not bothersome. With one pill a day after meals, the package lasts over 3 months. I suffer from sleep disorders and constant stress. After using this formula with a magnesium supplement, my sleep has improved, and I've felt more energetic. Despite still feeling a bit anxious, I’m happier than before. I'm early in the experiment but plan to continue and repurchase.
