Bad Migraines and Chest Pain. I started with the 12mg astaxanthin from another company, but it was too strong, so I switched. Initially, everything was great for the first week, but then I began experiencing intense migraines with chest tightness. Having never had a migraine before, I found this alarming. I discontinued it, and the migraines faded in a few days. The benefits diminished after the first week, while side effects grew worse.
