We studied how selenium-polysaccharides (Se-TP) from green tea could improve chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) in a rat model. Does Coenzyme Q10 Plus Selenium Supplementation Ameliorate Clinical Outcomes by Modulating Oxidative Stress and Inflammation in Individuals with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

We explored whether combining Coenzyme Q10 and selenium could improve outcomes for individuals with chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). In this study, 27 patients took an oral supplement for 8 weeks. While we noted improvements in overall fatigue severity and quality of life, sleep disturbances did not show any significant change. Additionally, we found increased antioxidant capacity and decreased inflammatory markers, indicating potential benefits. However, other key biomarkers did not show significant changes. Overall, this suggests that long-term supplementation might help some symptoms in ME/CFS.
