Vitamin B deficiency leads to rash
Twin Premature Infants With Riboflavin and Biotin Deficiency Presenting With Refractory Lactic Acidosis, Rash, and Multiorgan Failure During Prolonged Parenteral Nutrition.
We explored the effects of riboflavin and biotin deficiencies in premature twins, who initially presented with skin rashes among other severe symptoms. After being diagnosed, one twin began supplementation with these vitamins.
Remarkably, this led to a quick improvement in clinical condition and laboratory findings within days. Though one twin experienced tragic complications resulting in death, the surviving twin went home in stable condition, highlighting the importance of addressing vitamin deficiencies early.

Pellagra linked to isoniazid exposure
Isoniazid-associated pellagra during mass scale-up of tuberculosis preventive therapy: a case-control study.
We looked into how isoniazid exposure affects the risk of developing pellagra—a condition characterized by a distinct rash—among nutritionally vulnerable populations in Malawi. Our case-control study suggested that taking isoniazid significantly increases this risk.
Interestingly, those who discontinued isoniazid and began a treatment regimen of multi-B vitamins experienced noticeable improvement in their rash within just 30 days. This emphasizes the potential benefit of incorporating niacin when administering isoniazid, particularly in populations at risk for nutrition-related issues.

Rash from vitamins
31 people found this helpful
I wanted to supplement my vitamin B intake. The manufacturer indicated high percentages in each capsule, so I decided to take one every other day. My hair improved significantly, but after three weeks, an itchy rash appeared on my forearms. I discovered that this could be due to excess vitamin B. After I stopped, the rash and other issues did not recur. Be cautious regarding descriptions.

No skin rashes

I previously took pills, and upon trying these capsules, I was initially worried about the smell. However, it’s more pleasant in capsule form. I take it twice daily and, as a result, I have not suffered from mouth ulcers, colds, or significant skin rashes in years. It's challenging to obtain all vitamins from food, so I appreciate this high-quality product that offers good value. I will repurchase it when I run out.

Persistent rash issue

I advise looking elsewhere. Firstly, B-12 isn’t methylcobalamin, which is disappointing. Over three months of taking various NOW vitamins, I’ve had less joy. After a week, I developed a rash and small spots on my face that persist. Additionally, I gained 2 kg. My husband also suffers from a rash due to these vitamins. I am considering switching to Solgar vitamins but heard they might also be toxic.
A rash is a noticeable change in the texture or color of the skin that can manifest in various ways, including redness, swelling, itching, or blistering. Rashes can result from a wide range of causes, such as allergies, irritants, infections, or skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis. While some rashes may be mild and resolve on their own, others might require medical attention, particularly if they are persistent, widespread, or accompanied by other symptoms like fever or pain.
Identifying the underlying cause of a rash is crucial for effective treatment. Over-the-counter antihistamines or hydrocortisone creams can alleviate mild allergic reactions or irritations. However, for more severe cases or rashes that worsen, consulting a healthcare professional is recommended to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment options. Overall, being proactive and understanding the potential triggers of rashes can help in managing and preventing them in the future.
Vitamin B Complex refers to a group of water-soluble vitamins that play important roles in cell metabolism and overall health. This group typically includes eight essential vitamins: B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B7 (biotin), B9 (folate), and B12 (cobalamin). Each of these vitamins contributes uniquely to various bodily functions, such as energy production, red blood cell formation, and nervous system function. For instance, B12 and folate are crucial in preventing anemia, while B6 is vital for brain development and function.
Many people can obtain their daily requirements of B vitamins through a balanced diet that includes whole grains, meats, eggs, nuts, leafy greens, and dairy products. However, certain groups—like vegetarians, pregnant women, and older adults—may benefit from supplementation to meet their nutritional needs. It's important to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any supplement regimen, as excessive intake of certain B vitamins can lead to adverse effects. Overall, ensuring adequate intake of Vitamin B Complex is vital for maintaining energy levels and supporting overall health.
Vitamin B Complex plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy skin, and deficiencies in certain B vitamins can lead to skin issues, including rashes. For instance, deficiencies in vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), and B6 (pyridoxine) can manifest as skin irritation and rashes. In some cases, supplementation of these vitamins may help improve skin health and alleviate rash symptoms, particularly if the rash is related to a nutritional deficiency.
However, it’s essential to note that not all rashes are related to vitamin deficiencies, and using Vitamin B Complex as a remedy for rashes should be approached cautiously and ideally under the guidance of a healthcare professional. Self-diagnosing and treating skin rashes without understanding the underlying causes may lead to further complications. Therefore, while Vitamin B Complex can be beneficial for skin health, it’s crucial to identify the specific nature of the rash and consult with a healthcare provider for appropriate treatment.
Based on user reviews, the timeline for seeing results when taking this supplement for rashes varies, but many users report noticeable improvements within just a few days. For example, one user noted that their rash completely disappeared after three days of taking the supplement, attributing this improvement to the correction of a pantothenic acid deficiency present in the product Read Review. Another user mentioned a significant reduction in skin rashes after about a month of use Read Review.
However, some users also experienced adverse effects, indicating that individual responses can vary widely. A user reported developing a rash on their hands as early as the third day, prompting them to stop taking the supplement Read Review. Overall, while results can come quickly for some, it is crucial to monitor your own body's response, as reactions can differ significantly.
The supplementation of certain vitamins has shown promising results in addressing skin rashes stemming from deficiencies. For instance, a study highlighted that premature twins suffering from skin rashes due to riboflavin and biotin deficiencies saw substantial improvement after vitamin supplementation [1]. This emphasizes the importance of recognizing and treating vitamin deficiencies early to mitigate severe symptoms like rashes.
Another study indicated that individuals exposed to isoniazid, which can increase the risk of developing pellagra—a condition marked by rash—benefited from multi-B vitamin treatment, resulting in visible improvements in their skin condition within 30 days [2]. These findings suggest that certain vitamin supplementation regimens can indeed be effective for managing rash symptoms, particularly when the underlying cause is nutritional deficiency.
Many users have noted significant improvements in their skin condition and overall well-being after taking this B-complex supplement. Several reviewers reported that their skin became fresher and more radiant, with no rashes present after a few days of use Read Review. Another user mentioned that after three days, a rash that had troubled them for a year completely disappeared, attributing this to the pantothenic acid in the product Read Review. Additionally, there were accounts of users experiencing reduced skin rashes and overall improvements in their complexion Read Review.
However, it's important to highlight that experiences can vary. Some users faced adverse effects, such as the development of rashes or other skin issues after starting the supplement Read Review. One user even noted that excessive dosage led to a rash, prompting them to reduce their intake significantly Read Review. Therefore, while many have reported positive results, individual reactions can differ greatly, and it’s recommended to remain cautious and monitor personal responses to the supplement.
Based on user reviews, the combination of this supplement with other supplements for managing rashes has seen mixed results. Some users have reported improved skin conditions when combined with specific supplements. For instance, one reviewer mentioned that to achieve the best results for their hair and skin, they paired it with silicon, which helped their small rashes disappear Read Review. This indicates that carefully selecting complementary supplements may enhance the effectiveness of the B-complex in addressing skin issues.
Conversely, there are notable concerns among users who experienced adverse effects when taking the supplement, particularly regarding dosage and combinations. One user developed an itchy rash on their forearms after supplementing every other day, attributing this to excess vitamin B intake. Upon discontinuation, the rash cleared up, underscoring the importance of monitoring personal tolerance and potential interactions with other vitamins Read Review. Additionally, another user who combined the supplement with various NOW vitamins encountered persistent rashes and was considering a switch to a different brand due to adverse reactions Read Review. Thus, while some users found combinations beneficial, caution is advised to prevent undesirable side effects.
According to research, the optimal dose for Vitamin B Complex in treating rashes particularly manifests in conjunction with specific vitamins such as riboflavin and biotin, which proved effective in severely ill premature twins suffering from skin rashes due to deficiencies. One twin received vitamin supplementation and exhibited significant clinical improvement within days, showcasing the potential of addressing such deficiencies promptly [1].
Additionally, when looking at populations exposed to isoniazid, a treatment regimen of multi-B vitamins, particularly niacin, resulted in noticeable rash improvement within approximately 30 days after discontinuing isoniazid [2]. While exact dosage details for the Vitamin B Complex were not specified in the studies, the findings collectively underline the beneficial role of not just one, but a combination of B vitamins in addressing rash-related symptoms effectively.

After three days of taking it, the rash that had troubled me for about a year disappeared. I connect this improvement with the compensation of pantothenic acid deficiency, which is present in this product.

This complex didn’t suit me. I previously enjoyed a similar product that improved my skin and mood, but when I used this one, I developed a rash on my hands by the third day. I chose to stop taking it as it may not be compatible with biotin.

Rashes disappeared
Excellent! They took these vitamins during COVID and, as a side effect, my hair improved, and the rashes on my face vanished. They also took magnesium, which noticeably calmed my nerves! There are plenty of vitamins in the jar, enough for multiple courses or for several family members. The capsules are bright yellow with a mild scent, reminiscent of the old Soviet vitamins Revit or Undevit.

Reduced intake successfully

Good vitamin, but the dosage is excessive. It’s a powerful complex with very high dosages. I initially followed the instructions but ended up with a rash. I have since reduced my intake to one capsule per week.

Improved skin quality
I've become calmer with this complex. After a few weeks, I found that I now fall asleep quickly instead of tossing and turning. When my child has a tantrum, I remain calm and ask gently, ‘what happened?’ I feel more zen and at peace now. Additionally, it noticeably boosts the condition of my hair, skin, and nails. For best results, it's advisable to combine it with something targeting these areas specifically — such as silicon. My hair and nails grow faster, and small rashes have disappeared.
