Positively affects memory. Typically, brain cells receive energy from glucose, but if insufficient, the body resorts to using ketones for fuel, which coconut oil is rich in. In dementia patients, areas of the brain that are less sensitive to glucose can effectively absorb ketones, verified by positron emission tomography. Thus, for Alzheimer's patients, coconut oil can provide an alternative energy source. I administered it to my mother, and I noticed an improvement in her memory. However, she developed diarrhoea after two doses, which I had to halt. She then opted for 1 capsule in the morning and evening with meals. I certainly felt more alert, and my memory for numbers significantly improved, making calculations easier.

I am 45 with Mild Cognitive Impairment. Initially, it was believed to result from Multiple Sclerosis, and the uncertainty remains. I've been diagnosed with probable frontotemporal lobe dementia, potentially progressing to Alzheimer's. After joining a forum, I discovered a new drug, Axona, which is essentially coconut oil. Though it may contain undisclosed ingredients and could be expensive, I'm considering purchasing it before my next doctor's appointment in a month. My doctor is empathetic towards my alternative lifestyle, so I plan to discuss this natural remedy. I encourage others suffering cognitive impairment to give it a go; it may not worsen our condition. If it helps, fantastic; if not, managing cholesterol is far easier than confronting dementia.

Suitable for elderly patients with dementia, it appears to stimulate brain activity. I experienced slightly improved speech while using it. However, it seemed too stimulating for nighttime use, and we have decided to refrain from evening doses.
