We explored the effects of riboflavin and biotin deficiencies in premature twins, who initially presented with skin rashes among other severe symptoms. After being diagnosed, one twin began supplementation with these vitamins.

Remarkably, this led to a quick improvement in clinical condition and laboratory findings within days. Though one twin experienced tragic complications resulting in death, the surviving twin went home in stable condition, highlighting the importance of addressing vitamin deficiencies early.

We looked into how isoniazid exposure affects the risk of developing pellagra—a condition characterized by a distinct rash—among nutritionally vulnerable populations in Malawi. Our case-control study suggested that taking isoniazid significantly increases this risk.

Interestingly, those who discontinued isoniazid and began a treatment regimen of multi-B vitamins experienced noticeable improvement in their rash within just 30 days. This emphasizes the potential benefit of incorporating niacin when administering isoniazid, particularly in populations at risk for nutrition-related issues.

Rashes reduced significantly

This is my salvation! The tablets are oval, quite large, yellowish with red speckles. They have no distinct taste (like talc or chalk) but a slight aroma of B vitamins. I take them each morning; as stated, these capsules are slow-release. I noticed bright yellow urine indicating the release of riboflavin (vitamin B2) later in the day. This drug is indeed long-acting. Additionally, I had a lip jam issue, which any previous vitamin lacked effect. However, after just five days of this supplement, my ailment disappeared! The skin rashes from wearing a mask (13 hours a day for work) have noticeably decreased. This has become my go-to supplement, stored in the fridge without issue.

Unfortunately, I did not notice any significant improvement; rather, I experienced severe rashes and itching on my skin as side effects. Upon discontinuing the drug, the symptoms improved. However, when I tried taking it again, the same rashes recurred.

Good Pugh E combined with C, A, B, and Omega 3-6-9 and Zn has been beneficial. I feel good overall. The complexion of the grey-haired gentleman has become much more human, with smoother skin and almost no rashes on his face (although healing took time). The skin no longer appears shiny (perhaps due to winter?), yet it isn’t dry either. My nails have become slightly stronger, although they still tend to exfoliate (after wearing shellac for a long time). My hair has shed less. It’s hard to pinpoint which vitamin contributed most, but I suspect the combination helps. During the month I have taken these vitamins, I haven’t fallen ill, tentatively speaking. There are positive changes, though not dramatic enough to garner outside praise yet.
