Vitamin K1 may reduce kidney stones
Vitamin K1 Inhibition of Renal Crystal Formation through Matrix Gla Protein in the Kidney.
Moderately relevant to nephrolithiasis.
We explored the effect of vitamin K1 (VK1) on kidney stone formation by treating rats for eight weeks. Our observations showed that VK1 significantly reduced crystal formation in the kidneys.

It boosted levels of matrix Gla protein, which plays a crucial role in preventing crystal deposition. We noticed that VK1 even countered the negative effects of warfarin on cell viability. Overall, our findings suggest that VK1 could be a promising treatment to help prevent kidney stones.

Preventing kidney stones
I had no idea that I needed to take vitamin D3 with vitamin K2 until I developed kidney stones. Excess calcium from vitamin D3 can lead to this issue. After learning this, I take vitamin D3 only with vitamin K2 to prevent stone formation and highly recommend everyone to do the same to avoid the painful experience of kidney stones.

Avoiding kidney stones
I took vitamin D at a dosage of 10,000 IU for three months, which resulted in the formation of kidney stones. After addressing this with another herbal remedy, I now take vitamin K2 alongside vitamin D at 5,000 IU to prevent further stones. All medications were prescribed by my doctor, so it’s important to rely on professional advice rather than just others' experiences.

Improved kidney health
I began taking vitamin K2 due to hair loss, fatigue, nail and skin deterioration, and kidney stones. Testing revealed low levels of vitamin D. I believe taking this combination is necessary, as vitamin K2 directs calcium to bones and teeth while preventing blockage in blood vessels. It's crucial to pair vitamin D over 5,000 IU with K2 to avoid stones.

I take vitamin K2 with vitamin D, as it plays a vital role in metabolism, strengthens bones and connective tissue, and aids kidney function by ensuring effective calcium absorption and interaction with vitamin D. The results have been quite beneficial.
