MCT shows pain and diarrhea reliefQualitative Phytochemical Analysis and Assessments of Analgesic and Antidiarrheal Activity of the Methanolic Leaf Extract of Cheilanthes tenuifolia: In Vivo Study.
We explored the analgesic and antidiarrheal effects of the methanol leaf extract of Cheilanthes tenuifolia using Swiss albino mice. By testing different doses, we observed that higher doses of this extract significantly reduced both pain responses and diarrhea symptoms compared to control groups.
Additionally, combining the extract with standard medications enhanced its positive effects, indicating its potential as a complementary treatment for pain and diarrhea. Overall, this study suggests that C. tenuifolia could be a beneficial option for managing these conditions.

MCT oil aids Gaucher disease symptomsSuccessful therapy for protein-losing enteropathy caused by chronic neuronopathic Gaucher disease.
We observed a case of chronic neuronopathic Gaucher disease that led to severe diarrhea and weight loss due to protein-losing enteropathy. Despite traditional enzyme replacement therapy, this patient faced continuing gastrointestinal issues. However, after introducing daily medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil supplementation along with other treatments, we saw a remarkable stabilization of his condition. The gastrointestinal symptoms resolved, and he achieved appropriate weight gain, highlighting the potential of MCT oil as a supportive treatment for diarrhea in this context.

MCT oil enhances growth in infantsEffectiveness of Enteral Versus Oral Nutrition With a Medium-Chain Triglyceride Formula to Prevent Malnutrition and Growth Impairment in Infants With Biliary Atresia.
We focused on how enteral nutrition (EN) with a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) formula compares to oral nutrition (PO) in preventing malnutrition in infants with biliary atresia. Over 12 weeks, 15 infants received either method, while observing their growth and nutritional status.
Notably, infants on EN maintained better growth indicators, while those on PO experienced declines in certain measurements. However, we did note a higher occurrence of diarrhea and respiratory infections in the EN group. Overall, while both methods showed promise, EN with MCT offered clear benefits in growth stability.

MCT oil has no significant effectDiet supplemented with MCT oil in the management of childhood diarrhea.
We explored whether supplementing a diet with medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil could help reduce the duration and frequency of diarrhea in children. In our study with 17 young children suffering from acute diarrhea, we used a double-blind randomized design, administering either MCT oil or a non-MCT oil diet.
The results indicated no significant differences in diarrhea episodes or stool frequency between the groups. Interestingly, while there was a slight indication that MCT oil may support weight gain, the small sample size means we can't draw strong conclusions. Overall, MCT oil didn't worsen any symptoms, but more extensive research is needed to truly understand its effects.
