Vitamin D helps reduce migraines
We explored the potential benefits of vitamin D supplementation for treating migraines. Our analysis focused on several randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to examine how effective vitamin D could be in alleviating migraine symptoms.

Through our review, we included six RCTs involving 301 patients. The results were quite promising. Vitamin D supplementation significantly reduced the number of headache attacks per month and the number of headache days experienced by patients. Additionally, it improved the MIDAS score, which measures the impact of migraines on daily life.

However, it's important to note that vitamin D did not show a significant effect on how long migraine attacks lasted or the severity of the headaches. Overall, our findings suggest that while vitamin D might be beneficial for reducing certain migraine-related symptoms, it isn’t a miracle cure for everyone.

Zinc reduces migraine symptoms
This study was designed as a randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled trial to examine how zinc gluconate supplementation might alleviate migraine symptoms in adult women. We followed 60 women, averaging about 35 years old, who either received 15 mg of zinc per day or a placebo for a duration of 12 weeks.

Over the trial, we observed significant improvements in those taking zinc. The frequency of migraine attacks, as well as the duration and severity of the headaches, drastically decreased for participants receiving zinc. We used various assessments, such as a numerical rating scale and the Migraine Disability Assessment test, to evaluate these changes.

Additionally, zinc supplementation showed a notable reduction in levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), both of which are associated with inflammation. However, no significant changes in triglycerides or high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels were seen. After taking initial values into account, the changes in lipid levels and hs-CRP weren’t significant.

Overall, we found that zinc supplementation can beneficially impact migraine symptoms, reducing their severity and frequency among women. This offers a promising direction for migraine management without the side effects often associated with traditional medications.

Great multivitamin for chronic migraine sufferers! I have retinal migraines, where my vision becomes limited followed by severe migraines. When I take this product consistently, I do not experience migraines. This product contains magnesium and B-vitamins, which may be why I avoid migraines. Since stopping this supplement, I've continually suffered from migraines, unlike with Opti-Women, which provided beneficial effects both mentally and physically. I regret discontinuing it. My periods remain irregular, but I believe this product truly helps.

Best multivitamin for active women or those with physically demanding jobs! This is my third bottle, and I can't say enough good things about it! After trying many other brands that had large pills, gave me migraines, tasted horrible, and didn't aid my health, I feel I've hit the jackpot. I work in a warehouse, standing 10 hours a day, and workout on my days off. This multi provides the energy and essential vitamins my body needs to stay strong and healthy every day. Combined with source naturals when feeling unwell, I haven't felt better in years.

We conducted a study to investigate whether adding vitamin D supplements to topiramate therapy would improve migraine outcomes in children aged 5 to 14. In our double-blinded clinical trial, we randomly assigned participants to receive either topiramate with a daily 5000-IU vitamin D supplement or topiramate with a placebo for four months. By evaluating changes in headache frequency, severity, disability, and overall response to treatment, we aimed to see if vitamin D could provide additional benefits.

Our findings were quite promising. The children receiving the vitamin D supplement had a significant reduction in the number of headaches they experienced each month compared to those on placebo. Additionally, the vitamin D group reported less disability due to migraines and a higher percentage of positive treatment responses. Specifically, about 76% of children in the vitamin D group showed a good response, compared to just over 53% in the placebo group.

Safety was assessed as well, with side effects occurring in 13.3% of the vitamin D group and 20% in the placebo group, indicating that vitamin D was well-tolerated. Overall, we believe that combining vitamin D with topiramate represents a safe and potentially effective approach to managing pediatric migraines.
