This is a supplement to help the eyes combat blue light and is a brand I have used in the past and have never encountered a problem. It contains Lutein and Zeaxanthin which are both derived from marigold flower extract. I have been taking lutein for years and although I have no empirical evidence, I think it helps maintain my eyesight. Dosage is 1 pill per day with a full glass of water in the morning during a meal. The soft gel is 5/8 inches long and 1/4 inches at its widest point. Note, if possessing sensitivities or Allergies the other ingredients include soybean oil, gelatin, glycerin, sunflower oil, yellow beeswax, soy lecithin, natural tocopherols, titanium dioxide and red no 40 and blue no 1. Since the gelatin is not noted to be vegetarian they are not vegan friendly. The bottle has a foil seal to ensure the pills are fresh and untouched. And, to estimate shelf-life, the expiration date is 12 months in the future
