Oral-B Pro 1000 CrossAction Electric Toothbrush

Oral-B Pro 1000 Rechargeable Toothbrush has not disappointed me. I've had my own since 2019. It still functions beautifully. The one thing I've noticed is the battery charge doesn't last as long as it did when it was new. I could go 2 weeks or more without charging. Now it's about 1 week & I need to charge. I do brush morning & night for the full 2 minutes. I love everything about it. I don't have sensitive teeth thus my teeth can handle the deep cleaning it provides. I really don't recommend this if you do have sensitive teeth as I feel it would be too harsh. The timing function works wonderfully for it tells me when to move onto the next area of my mouth. ••To prevent a yukky mess that drips down I have learned 2 things: I thoroughly run water under the brush while it's running to fully clean it. This, however, doesn't prevent yuk from your brushing from forming down where the brush head meets the toothbrush. I became tired of a toothbrush that had dried toothpaste on it even though I thought cleaning the head was enough. Unfortunately the yuk does collect at that area & begins the mess. To prevent that I do now take the head of the brush every time I use it now. I just sit in to side in a dry cloth. Hence a clean brush. Since my purchase I've purchased 2 more. One for my husband who was told by his Dentist he needed an electric toothbrush because he was developing gingivitis. He loves it because it's so easy to brush now. The toothbrush does all the work. At first he was doing the brushing & ruined the head a little. So a reminder this does the brushing for you. You only need to move the brush around your mouth. Since having mine I haven't had one cavity. One thing my hygienist did mention when I first got it was I wasn't getting high enough to my upper gums. Now I make sure I do. I also purchased one for my 15yo Son as his Pediatric Dentist said it was okay & recommended that he start early with an excellent choice in toothbrushes. For $50- the price hasn't changed since 2019 - this is well worth getting. For multiple reasons as I feel I thoroughly cleans my teeth. Once I began using this my mouth felt clean & fresh & it does every time I use it. I also feel using an electric toothbrush has saved $ I'd be spending on dental bills. The cost always swayed me away from making the purchase but I'm glad I did. Obviously since mine still works since 2019 there's definite genuine quality with Oral-B. The box does state it comes with a 2 year limited warranty & there is a 60 day risk free trial. The paperwork details are in the box. For all I've written I highly recommend this Oral-B electric toothbrush & I don't feel you'll be disappointed. ••I do not purchase genuine Oral-B brush heads. From the beginning I've purchased a generic version from Amazon which have worked perfectly. My pictures reflect how nicely it's packaged upon its arrival

My dentist recommended I swap from the Phillips Sonicare to an Oral B electric toothbrush to more easily reach behind and around my back molars. I've had a Sonicare brush of some sort for 15 years now. I was hesitant to swap. When the Oral B brush arrived, I unpacked it and everything went together well. I rinsed the small by comparison brush head and decided to give it an immediate go. I pushed the power button and I swear a rocket blasted off into space - inside my head. This thing is LOUD! Much, much louder than the Sonicare toothbrush I was accustomed to all these years. However, it has some oomph behind it and quite a bit of scrubbing power in those bristles. I vowed to give it a solid week before making my final decision. I most miss the silence of my Phillips Sonicare brush and the minimalist timer function but that's really it. All else is sacrificial to me. The Oral B gives my teeth and gums a much deeper and thorough clean I feel. The timer function is a bit odd on this brush though. It almost feels as if it “skips.” As if you put too much pressure on the motor and it burns out for a split second before revving back up. It also doesn't automatically shut off after two minutes - it just keeps rattling your brain endlessly until you turn it off. I don't really find this feature helpful personally. I did notice that you CAN charge this toothbrush with the Phillips Sonicare base. It's the same peg-in-hole design concept of sitting the brush on the base to charge. Regardless of which charger I grab from the drawer, the Oral B charge doesn't last very long. Within a weeks time, it's flashing at me brightly to give it some juice. My Sonicare could easily go several weeks between charges with twice daily usage. This one drains pretty quickly. I wish the Oral B brush heads came with a cap/cover of sorts. All in all, I like the toothbrush. It's not my favorite and I prefer the stealth and sleekness of the Phillips Sonicare more BUT the Oral B has other brands beat on deep cleaning. The vibrations and the oscillation of the brush head just cannot be beat. I'll admit, most mornings, I use my Sonicare brush still. I'm not fully awake, nor am I a morning person in general so the sound of a Boeing jet starting up in my mouth isn't how I want to start my day. Sonicare let's me ease into my mornings gently. However, at night, I always use the Oral B brush to deep clean and clear away any lingering dinner debris before bed. I'm not ready to fully embrace this brush yet but I like it enough to keep it and continue using it. I feel it's overall function outweighs its aesthetics. Oral B if you're reading this; please, make it quieter, give it a longer-lasting battery and please, put a cap on the brush head for storage and overspray of styling products and perfumes

This design is slightly different from my previous Oral-B one. The "On" button is no longer raised and convex. It's more concave and harder to find by feel. There's a green light that shows if the unit is charging--that'll no doubt burn out in time. I do like the new coating on the back of the brush. Instead of soft plastic ridges, it's a harder dimpled surface that is easier to keep clean. My teeth still show marks from using a manual toothbrush too vociferously before I switched over about 20 years ago. I'm not shelling out however many dollars for a Sonicare. My dentist doesn't think they are any better, and my teeth cleanings are very speedy. It seems six years is the average lifespan of these toothbrushes. After about 5 years, they don't hold a charge as well. I rarely travel with mine, so I've no experience with that. I just keep it plugged in and sitting on the charger 24/7. I was suspicious of reports that this toothbrush is suddenly louder, but it is. I had to replace my old toothbrush (same model, but six years old), so I compared the noise level. This new version is a couple tones lower and some decibels louder. I get migraines from noise, and this doesn't give me a migraine, so I will live with it. Also, about the complaint that the sound changes periodically: yes, the sound lets you know when it's time to move to the next quadrant. The loudness issue seems like an American problem. Vacuum manufacturers know that Americans equate loud noise with power, and thus our vacuums are extra noisy. Meanwhile European vacuums are made to be as quiet as possible. I hope Oral-B engineers take heed that often we're trying to wind down for the night when we're brushing our teeth, so there's no need to jar our senses wide awake

I've purchased electric toothbrushes for my husband and daughter. For some reason, they've never purchased me one lol I probably would complain about a toothbrush as a gift anyways so I get why they didn't. Having said that, this Oral B CrossAction was on sale and I decided to make the change. I've been having plaque build up behind my front teeth for many years. I bought this right after my last cleaning. I also quit smoking after 26 years so I can't exclude that as a contributing factor, but man oh man, I can already tell it's a helping. I used to have a little blood after brushing but that has also stopped with the change so I know already my gums are doing better. Since I have purchased this toothbrush, I have upgraded my daughter and husband also to this same brush. The first three days my daughter said it hurt and her gums were bleeding. Surprisingly after that they stopped and now her gums are less swollen and her teeth are starting to show more. She also just had her braces removed a few months ago so we were hoping they would be less inflamed once she could really get everywhere, but…she was already using an electric toothbrush. You'd be correct. That is how much more effective this brush is than the off brand I purchased for her and my husband. I'm so glad now that we've all made the change so my daughter can really understand and FEEL the difference of a good clean!! Highly recommend

This brush cleans so well but I find it to be so annoying! First let me tell you how well it cleans and then I'll tell you what bothers me. With this brush, my teeth are cleaner than they have ever been in my life. My teeth are so clean that they look like Mr Wilson's fake "gum teeth" from the move Dennis the Menace. My mouth is so clean that my breath tastes fresh. The charger is great too and it's a wireless charge. Here's the main thing I dislike though. I absolutely do not like that brush timer. I use the brush and I'm in the middle of a relaxing brushing session when all of the sudden I hear and feel in my mouth "Wah,Wah , Wah" while the brush starts to slow it's rpm and vibrate. It does this continually during the brushing cycle and I find it to be super distracting. I understand that the reasons behind this timer are to help my time when to brush but it would be nice if this option could be turned off. As much as I dislike this feature, I'll continue to use this brush until I find something better because it does such an amazing job cleaning my teeth

I was the last in my family to embrace the electric toothbrush, but over the last six months I've been on a personal mission to deny my dentist anything to put on her “watch list,” and this seemed like a good addition to the arsenal. The brush seems well made and I appreciate the easy and water resistant charging system. There is a bit of a learning curve in brushing technique, but now that I have the hang of it, I really do think I'm getting better results over my manual brush. That combined with a dedication to daily flossing that no other human has ever achieved (I'm pretty sure), I fully expect a look of poorly veiled disappointment in my dentist's eyes as she slowly lowers the drill that just moments ago was quivering in her expectant hands

I wanted to give this a 4.5 based on the Cons below but felt it didn't affect the overall product efficacy so went with 5 as 4 seemed too low. Pros: 1) Really strong brush! Knocked me a bit for a loop at first and the whirring sounded like a rocket against my teeth but it gave me a very clean sensation. 2)The slight uneven edges work well with the circular rotation and I could feel I was reaching some of the crevices better if I moved the brush additionally from left to right. 3) The deck charger (individual) is nice and small, not taking up a lot of space. Nice design. Cons: 1) I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and, boy, that button is hard to press. I sometimes have to use my second hand to press it closed. Maybe take that in consideration whenever redesigning? 2) Like most brushes there is a timer buzz every 30 secs and then a stronger timer buzz at the 2" mark. My problem is the 30 sec buzzes are very faint and very fast when you have a loud toothbrush in your mouth, and they are easy to miss. Also, though the 2" timer is much stronger and a little slower, it immediately feeds into another cycle without stopping. Maybe its because before I had a toothbrush that stopped after 2" and you had to press it again to restart, but at first I found this annoying. Since then I have come to not be too bothered by it and realize I am not rushing the clock and can keep brushing at my leisure. But I still barely feel or notice the 30 sec timers which would help. 3) I was hoping it would have more than one brush setting for when you need a slightly lighter brush (i.e. after oral surgery or if mouth feels sensitive). The setting that exists is great and powerful (wakes me up!) but it would be nice to have a second setting. Maybe you offer this already in a more expensive version on this brush. Great brush overall. Very happy with strength of cleanliness

Likes: no bells and whistles, simple slim design, not bulky, light, comes with one toothbrush head already, quadrant timer 1 vibration and two minute timer where it vibrates three times. One simple clean function which I thought was enough but not sure on that one. Will give it more time. Maybe I need a diff toothbrush head. Dislikes: the trade off is that it is pretty loud compared to my previous $130 Philips e-brush. It rattles my brain while I'm brushing. Its vibration is so loud that some reviewers and myself can just barely feel the timer's indicator. Actually I can feel them but I'm forced to pay attention. I also do not like that it doesn't turn off on its own after the 2-min callout. That leaves you awkwardly trying to move your finger to press the off button while it's still in your mouth *smh*. Someone designed a real winner here. I am keeping it due to hassle of return and I do want a brush under this brand since my last oral b brush lasted about 10 years and its toothbrush head refills are more affordable than Philips

I bought this on Cyber Monday, and have been using it pretty consistently for two months now. I was hesitant at first, because of some reviews I read, but I've got to say that I am very happy with this purchase. My dentist recommended that I use an electric toothbrush because I have made my gums receed by brushing too hard, and exposed the nerves at the base of teeth. Hot, cold, and pressure, especially from brushing my teeth manually was causing pain. He said that it's virtually impossible to brush your teeth too hard with an electric toothbrush, and since using this one, I would have to say he's right. I have tried to put a lot of pressure on, and it doesn't hurt my teeth. I went back to brushing my teeth by hand, and it did, even when I tried not to apply pressure. I absolutely hated it. I wish I had bought one of these years ago. Not only has it vastly improved my brushing experience, but my teeth feel so much cleaner now than they ever did before. Like others have said, it's that squeaky clean feeling like you just came from the dentist. It's great! I had no idea what I was missing before. Some reviewers have complained about battery life. I usually keep the base plugged in all the time, and I just always return it to the base, so I don't really notice, but the times I have left the base unplugged, it seemed to take a week until it ran slow and needed to be charged. *At first I thought I had a problem with my battery dying... then I timed it and realized that it pulses every 30 seconds for you to keep track of how long you are brushing. It does not feel like a jackhammer in your mouth unless you bite down on the head. As I said, I have extremely sensitive teeth, and I think this is much better than brushing by hand. The handle is a bit slippery, but it's really not a big deal. If you drool, just angle yourself so it doesn't go down your hand. Overall, for the price I paid, I am satisfied with this product. I like the size and the shape of the head, and angled bristles. I feel like it really gets every angle, and down to the gumline nicely. My only complaint is that I have never had a toothbrush wear out so fast as this one has. I have only been using it for 2 months, and it is already really worn out. The color changing bristles are yellow and less stiff than before. The replacement heads are pretty expensive, and the package only comes with one. No replacements
