Candida
Don't know if its a single item or the combination that's helping so will give all the same review. A lot of research into my chronic constipation, concentration issues, inability to lose weight, severe bloating, sudden alarming food reactions, overwhelming craving for sweets, onset of skin conditions and a general tired blah feeling led me to candidiasis. "Dr. Wally" said it could be candidiasis but probably wasn't and spent 20 minutes lecturing on my need for the South Beach Diet, trying to get me to buy these wrist monitor things he wears and of course how everyone needs to walk at least 15,000 steps daily to have any effect at all on one's blood sugar and weight. He ignored my attempts to steer him toward issues other than weight (like eating 1 egg and half a piece of pumpernickel and being unable to return plate to kitchen because I could barely draw a breath for hours). Refused to test me for allergies, candida overgrowth or a cbc which I haven't had for over a decade. Finally broke out of his 15,000 step diatribe to ask why I had a cane. (How do these idiots make it through med school?) There is a site that offers a very simple spit test for candida overgrowth. I decided to trust it because the author wasn't SELLING ANYTHING. They made some recommendations without brand names that include oregano oil, grapefruit seed extract, probiotics, and caprylic acid. Felt great, almost manic the first few days (psychosomatic?) and lousy achy the next few then nothing. Until I realized my hair had stopped falling out, and it had been coming out in handfuls. Not what I'd been expecting or hoping for but a very positive reaction nonetheless. Months later I've started to lose some weight. Not a lot but considering I've been stuck at 194 (I'm 5'4") for 2 years this is a HUGE accomplishment. I'm on the toilet 5 or 6 times daily instead of 8-10 and get up feeling some relief instead of the frustration of the last couple years. (Yes I take fiber) No more food reactions, far less intense sweet cravings and the thick muddy-purple, pimply, maddeningly itchy patch that had grown over a third of my forearm has faded to a shadow that only darkens or starts to itch if I overeat (meaning an amount of food bigger than my fist) or get stupid with my glycemic intake. I feel pretty darn good actually. My trip to the doctor was in hopes of a quick fix. I think I'm in this for the long haul but these products have taken me from desperate to comfortably, confidently hopeful and I hope they'll help you as well
