This product is the best I have found at alleviating my symptoms

Updated review 12/28/2018 ---------------------------------- I recently had a bad flare-up and went to a new GI specialist for some help. On probiotics I was told to try a product called Florajen, as it is one of the only probiotics that has research backing it's claims. My results have been amazing and it is actually cheaper, at $0.55 per capsule, than Renew Life at $0.69 per capsule. I found myself feeling even better than when I use this product within a few days. It's kept in the fridge and is shipped in a refrigerated pack for freshness. So while I do still recommend Renew Life, I recommend you take a look at Florajen if you want other quality options to compare. suffer from mild IBS. I say mild, because my family all have it and I seem to be the least affected, if that helps anyone reading this decide. This product is the best I have found at alleviating my symptoms. It keeps me regular, and the bloating and gas are almost "normal" now. There's not much else to say, really, other than I wish I'd found it a long time ago. I've tried plenty other brands and keep coming back to this specific product

Good cost-effectiveness ratio for me…. also helped through antibiotic treatment

My acupuncturist/OMD recommended this (but at 50 mu dose). Tried 50 mu for a bottle, then switched to 30 mu for now at least a couple of months and don't fell a difference (cheaper). The stuff works well for me. I have an autoimmune arthritis and seem to have stool problems with the disease or/and medications, with both diarrhea or constipation. These seem to help. I bought another brand, but these seem to work better, with better stool formation and less bouts of diarrhea, good improvement, but not perfect, but worth the cost for the benefit. Was just on a antibiotic regimen of ciprofloxicin flagyl for 10 days and went through with no gastrointestinal problems. Overall pleased. PunMed search shows efficacy of Probiotics in particular IBS. Duration of treatment and best formulations (which bacteria) and dose appear to be still unknown. However, a study in 15 elderly patients showed positive effects on the immune system (by measuring natural killer cells in blood) at 3 weeks (Gill HS et all; search). A few notes/comments from the questions section (my last purchase in June 2018): -I cut a cap open, doesn't look like sustained release, just powder in a vegetable capsule [correction web site says sustained release]- see pic attached. -The caps are vegetable and cellulose. -Storage 77F (25C) or below. Best if refrigerated. -Did not come shipped in a cooler. -Expiration date was 1-1/2 years from purchase date (11/2019) -Measured capsule to confirm 3/4 inch long and 1/4 inch across (on the large size) -Lists as: gluten, dairy, and soy free -Supplement Facts lists 11 strains, 4 Bifobacterium 7 Lactobacillus strains = 11. However, there are 2 strains of B. cactus, thus 12 strains. -Duration of treatment to assess treatment effect unknown, but the study cited above suggests at least 3 weeks in elderly humans

AMAZING. Cured my chronic diarrhea

If I could give 10 stars, I would. This is the best probiotic I've ever taken. No crazy side effects other than a complete 180 in my digestive health. I was suffering with chronic diarrhea, cramping, bloating, and unable to eat most of the foods that I love the most. Within a couple of weeks of taking this (and not changing anything else in my diet) my diarrhea stopped completely. I don't have any pain or cramping anymore. I'm now able to eat all of the yummy foods (and coffee!) that used to send me to the bathroom 8 times a day. I was diagnosed with IBS and had been suffering for years to what seemed like no end. I've tried so many other probiotics and nothing worked. In fact, most probiotics I've tried in the past gave me terrible headaches and malaise. This probiotic is great because it contains microcrystalline cellulose - a compound that wraps the probiotics to keep them alive when passing through stomach acids. This slow-release function ensures that all of the GOOD bacteria are making it all the way through your digestive tract and releasing all of that good stuff along the way! In addition to that, the strains included are some of the most vital strains of bacteria to keep your digestive balance! 10 Stars! !! It worked amazing

I would give it 10 Stars if I could ! Was taking 300 MG of rantidine everyday , and was getting to where I needed something more. Started taking these and immediately noticed I no longer needed the medication for my GERD. I'm only about 8 Days In but I'm Amazed how effective this was. I only wish I had discovered it sooner. This is the first time that I've ever taken pill form probiotic , i have drank a little drink like dan active... but never noticed much of a difference. Will continue to buy! It does say Refrigeration is recommended, so I just put them in the fridge after I get them from Amazon. May do some price checking locally now that it's warming up

UPDATE – Best so far

Okay. I said I would update and here it is: After trying a 2nd product (different brand) - that is both pro- and pre-biotic - I have to admit that maybe you get what you pay for. The other brand was cheaper but it did not help with continuing the effects started with the Renew Life. Maybe I need to give it more time, but I need results asap so I will be loosening up my budget when it comes to my probiotics! I will need to update this review after I have used these for a while BUT - - My main concerns were whether or not these would upset my stomach (they do not), and if the expiration date is decent (it is). PROS: long expiration date, no stomach upset, very safely packaged, and clearly marked with good info. Also, if kept cool enough, these don't HAVE to be refrigerated. Since this is my first time using a tablet probiotic, I read a lot of reviews for different brands and types. One reviewer suggested that, in order for new users to avoid an upset stomach, they should start with a lower CFU (colony-forming unit) than the 50 and 60 billion CFU products I was looking at. I think that was great advice. I am taking one of these tablets in the morning and one in the evening (to test whether I can handle the higher CFU that way. No problems so far. I did have some slight gas the first night but nothing that was problematic! I had been drinking the probiotic teas but because I can't get a good explanation of pasteurization on the product, I decided to use tablets. So far, I think the only thing I'm concerned with is the price. I'm going to have to try these long enough to see if they work for me or if I need a different formula so this is a pricey experiment for me. If they work, I will figure out a way to keep them in my monthly budget

Works perfect!

I've tried probiotics before and I either didn't notice them working or they actually made my bowel habits worse (ie made me more constipated). But these Renew Life ones are perfect! I weight lift so I eat a protein heavy diet which for me causes constipation and a lot of bloating. This might be TMI (sorry!) but I was experiencing bad constipation for a week and a half. I drank more water, tried eating more veggies/berries, adding more fats and fiber to my diet, but nothing helped, so I bought these a couple days ago, and already my bowel habits are much better and working smoothly, which is exactly what I needed. They are easy to swallow as they are a relatively small pill, there is no bad taste or smell. They actually smell a little citrusy out of the container which was pleasant! I feel great taking these and I highly recommend them to everyone who needs an extra boost for their gut! :

It works!

I got pancreatitis as a result of a severe cortisone reaction. My GI track was pretty off. My GI dr gave me a prescription dose of probiotic. The samples he gave really started healing my intestinal & pancreatic issues. However, my insurance would not cover any probiotics. I compared dozens of products and the Renew for Life most closely contained the probiotics I needed. I read a variety of articles. This information proved helpful in my decision to purchase Renew for Life: 1. Dr created and or verified in medical studies. 2. Don't buy refrigerated products as the shelf life is limited. 3. Don't purchase the max”live probiotics”, example the 50 or 100 billion, etc as the dosage may be too strong. 4.Inch your way up to a higher “x/billion, etc Go up as needed, but it takes 30-45 days. 5. Study up on the different flora compounds to know your fit and need

“Best If Refrigerated” but Shelf Stable…???

Capsules are small and easy to swallow, no odd taste. Gave one less star for the "best if refrigerated" comment being so difficult to find on the box. I wondered about this when reading the product description before ordering. Product information says "shelf stable" so a person would logically think they are okay out on the counter in normal room temp. That's why I bought these ones. I couldn't seem to find anything on the box about refrigeration after opening, so I left it out on the counter. Finally, after about 3 days, I see it mentioned on the box in really SMALL print. Not happy about that, but put them in the fridge and hope the delay isn't a problem. Company needs to make up its mind, which is it - shelf stable or refrigerated??

The good and the bad

I have decided to try RenewLife Ultimate Flora Probiotic 30 billion live cultures / 12 Probiotic strains, after previously taking : RL Ultimate Flora Probiotic 15/10 RL Ultimate Flora Probiotic 15/12 Here is my reaction to it after seven days of taking it. Pros: - dramatically improved digestion - regular bowel movement at least once a day - reduced stomach discomforts ( if any) after eating large meals - soft stools that pass easily - improved sleeping pattern - feeling of adequate sleep and effortless wake up - noticable spike in energy level - less dry skin - improved mood and concentration - anxiety (this one is tricky) seems to be gone and I do not experience intense stomach butterflies in stressfull situations. - I am more assertive ,dominant, decisive and outspoken - I also feel calmer Cons: - migraine headaches that come and go and are usually manageable - seems like my joint pain is increased in both elbows and knees - arthritis like pain in wrist and anckles - feeling of somewhat detachment from reality at times - short term memory decreased at times - Increased heart rate I am a male in my mid 30s, in shape and eating properly majority of the time, no alcohol. I wish I could give it 5 stars and, I still might, once I find what causes the side effects. I am concerned with the migraine headaches and I wonder if this might be due to increased strain or culture number. To me, the benefits definitely outweigh the sides, but nevertheless, I will need more time investigate

Stay Healthy

I came upon this product by accident, and it has changed my life for the better! Something similar was left behind by my son when he moved out on his own in 2013. I didn't want it to go to waste, so I started to take it (a probiotic). Then, with some research, I learned how good probiotics were for a person. I was sold on Renew Life Probiotics for the 30 billion CFU. Since taking this daily, I have stayed healthy (no colds, flu, sinus infections) for all these years! It's an effective product at a great price
