My husband has been using these GUM brand refills in his Proxabrush sticks for years. He likes to use them to pick in between his teeth before he brushes with a regular toothbrush. He's got a permanent dental bridge that spans quite a few teeth and so I guess dental floss just doesn't work well for him. These brushes work well; they are good refills. It's nice that they come in a in variety of sizes depending upon your preference and the space between your teeth. My husband buys the wide ones. He replaces his brush refills about every two weeks, but he says that it depends on how rough you are with it, and he is rough, so he has to replace them more frequently than others might need to. My husband recommends them. Like I said, he's been using them for years. It's very convenient to find them on Amazon. Sometimes they are hard to find in the stores. This was also a reasonable price. Gum interdental alternatives: Proxabrush vs Soft-Picks Original

It's easy to use and can fit in any of my interdental spaces. However, after 12-15 uses, most of the usable rubber bits have gone down the drain and the pick must be landfilled. Wanting a more ecological option, I purchased this Proxabrush (#605) and trialed three sizes of refills: Tight (#414), Moderate (#612), and Wide (#614). I like that I can attach two sizes on this dual-ended Proxabrush. The handle is comfortable. If I use a head that is too large, its wire rubs uncomfortably against my teeth and gums. Using an oversized head also leads to bending of the head's thin wire from excessive force. Soft-Picks is much sturdier; however, if the tip bends from excessive force, it cannot be straightened. Using the appropriate Proxabrush head results in a comfortable bristle action. The biggest advantage that the Proxabrush has over the Soft-Picks is the ease of cleaning teeth from the inside out; I don't attempt this with the Soft-Picks. Perhaps the curved Soft-Picks Advanced (#6505) would come close to the capability of the Proxabrush in cleaning from the inside out. After a trial by my family, we discovered that the Proxabrush solution is too unwieldy for smaller mouths. So, some of us will continue to use Soft-Picks, while others will continue trialing the Proxabrush for durability. Relative width and length (left to right): Soft-Picks, Tight, Moderate, and Wide

Oral hygienist recommended Proxabrush; just the ticket for cleaning gaps

My dad's oral hygienist recommended the Proxabrush Sunstar 625UC GUM Go-Betweens Proxabrush Handle with Refill, Nylon Bristle to help him clean gaps between his back teeth. He's older and has humongous hands, so using floss is downright impossible. The Proxabrush does a better job than floss and is easier for him to use. Keeping between his teeth clean is helping with sensitivity also. I've purchased refills along with the brush handle, and the hygienist told him to reuse the brushes, rinsing them with water and with mouthwash before leaving them to dry. She said the brushes should last 2-4 weeks, depending upon how much he uses them, so I bought quite a few extra, choosing the wider triangles Sunstar 614D GUM Proxabrush Go-Betweens Wide Refill, Nylon Triangular Shaped Bristle, Pack of 8 . She recommended using the Proxabrush once a day. So far, so good. Very pleased with this purchase

#414, for small spaces

I use these with the Oral B interdental holder that my hygienist gave me. She originally gave me some of the WIDE interdental brushes which worked fine for larger gaps, but the #414 "Tight" works for more of my gaps. There are still a lot of spaces that these will not fit, so I recommend using regular floss as well as a Waterpik in conjunction with these interdental brushes. My normal routine is to floss, use the interdental in most spaces, then use a Waterpik, followed by an Oral B powered brush. Overall: 5/5 stars, as advertised - may not fit in the tightest gaps, but works for 90% of my teeth. I'd probably go with Moderate for a better fit in the larger gaps

8 means ONE single package

When I opened the package, I thought I had received a partial shipment because when I have ordered in the past, I always get 6 packages that contain 8 brushes. That's what this seller calls the 48 quantity option which I believe is misleading. But shame on me for not "getting" it. As is with ONE package, the price is too high but I use the things religiously and have helped keep pockets in my gums from getting out of hand. But what aspect of this product has to do with sheerness??? I think nothing so gave it 1 because I'm mad I only got 1 pkg (of 8)

#414 Cylindrical brush tip for Tight Spaces

I've been alarmed by the reviews on various sellers' sites saying they had ordered cylindrical and received tapered. I ordered these in August and did receive cylindrical brush tips, as pictured. The wires are pretty weak, and easily bent, but that's unavoidable if it's going to fit into tight spaces. They're supposed to be changed weekly, and I can generally get a week's worth of use out of one, despite having some teeth that are both very close, and slightly crooked, so it's a guessing game inserting the wire at just the correct angle to slide right in. I use a Proxabrush with the conical tip at one end for wide spaces, and the cylindrical one at the other end

Requires Handle, But Better Than Individual Brushes

I have an old GUM handle with a brush attachment at each end. I keep the medium on one end and the tight on the other end because my teeth aren't all evenly spaced. I have tried the individual brushes that come with a mini handle attached. I like the (old) big handle better. It's easier to get the brush where I want it, especially the back-most teeth. I also feel like the wire in the brush is stiffer on the separate brushes than the ones with the handle. I don't have as much trouble with a collapsed brush. But, the separate brushes are hard to find in a store. I don't know if brushes really clean better than floss, but my dentist recommended them, so it's probably not just advertising

YAY, the tiniest of proxy heads

So hard to tell when I was shopping. Happy to receive these as they are the PERFECT size, in fact, for my entire row of bottom teeth. One is slightly crooked, and no other brush gets in there. I proxy with toothpaste, with three different brush sizes, morning and night, after I have done my regular brushing. A periodontist once told me, "For someone like you, it might be better to skip the regular brushing and just brush between your teeth." FYI, having periodontal disease does not mean you took terrible care of your teeth. It means you have WORSE bacteria than the average joe out there. Now, when I go for cleaning, the hygienists are like, "There's like nothing to do. Your teeth are perfect." I always tell them, "I do my best, but let's remember that it's not me, it's the bacteria. Right now it's kinda dormant, but it might not always be." Also I'm 58 and have got my routines down. When I was younger, I couldn't commit to anything (taking vitamins regularly, skincare, what have you). Now everything is accounted for and checked off the list I make every day

Gum brush

When I bought these I figured I would be getting the same thing I had before, but NO that would be too simple. The wire is very thin and the brush is not big enough to cover my tooth gaps. As the dental science had gotten better people with mouths like mine are NO LONGER being covered by gum brushes. My dentist said in 1987 that I needed to use a large and small gum brush and as I have gotten older all the brushes that I used to buy are NO LONGER made. The recommendation is to move with the times or to clear the queue. I am waiting on the second at which time my issue will go away

A good product

I started using this product several years ago when it was introduced to me by my hygienist. I tried all the local drug stores and grocery stores and was unable to find it. My last visit to the dentist is where they discovered it available on Amazon. I think it's a great adjunct to brushing or flossing
