I love encapsulating various extracts and herbal powders by hand, while bingeing my favorite TV series. It's a task I enjoy doing because the reward has been unbelievable. I've treated myself for my chronic pain and chronic illnesses and helped treat my parents, and my supplement capsules are vital in that equation. The size of the capsules is medium large, but pretty easy to swallow with some fluids. Occasionally they get a stuck down in my esophagus somewhere, but it doesn't happen too often. The locking feature closes securely, keeping the powder safely packed inside. The caps don't break easily, although they can get bent out of shape or cracked. Every bag seems to have a few of those. The outside surface of the capsule can get very sticky if you handle it while capping certain types of powders, like a resin such as boswellia, or adaptogenic extracts like rhodiola and medicinal mushrooms. I sometimes wear rubber gloves to do the work, which helps but has its own downsides. In the photos are a bunch of the supplements I've put together using these capsules. As you can see, they work fine for a variety of powders, and they make a great product for people who want to improve their health and wellbeing. Read More...Product made in USA, the caps are large. I got them to deal with a Lyme protocol using essential oils. Filled with essential oils and a carrier oil they are ok ( carrier oil first) I haven't seen them melting on the table, a few minutes (2-5) before they are taken. But filled with water, they melt right away. Once taken and swallowed they melt in the stomach within 5-15 min. So if you look for something to melt in the intestines, this is not the thing. Was looking at getting enteric caps, but since they were coming from China, I went for these gelatin caps. Also looked at veggie caps, but since most of them are made of pine or other coniferous cellulose and my husband has always had a reaction to evergreens especially around the holidays, I went for the gel caps. If anyone has issues with beef ( as I know some do in the autoimmune issues world) you may want to think twice. These caps are made of beef gelatin. As for size, they are big, the regular caps with vitamins and what not, are smaller than even 0. My 5 year old cannot swallow the 00 or the 0. Size is for adults only ( and those who don't have issues swallowing pills and caps) . I otherwise am pretty happy with them

I'm new at it so this is the only brand I have used and I'm very happy with the quality and ease of use. They almost snap closed when I put the tops on. It's a secure fit and I've never had a problem. I fill my own C's and it saves money plus I know there's no extra fillers in my capsules. Pure ascorbic acid. I'll reorder these
Read More...I bought these when my regular brand went up in price, and I'm pretty happy with them. They are cheaper than the caps I usually buy, although only by a little bit, and arrived several days before I expected them even without prime shipping. They were a little tacky/swollen from humidity when I got them, but a couple of days in a jar with a silica packet and they were fine. They actually closed a lot better than the gel caps I had been buying before, which was a nice surprise. I also appreciate that they are kosher and halal, made with only water and beef gelatin, making them digest fairly quickly. These caps worked really well in my Capsule Machine, although I had to do a few by hand because of the stickiness I mentioned earlier. It really wasn't a problem though - filling them by hand was easy if messy, since I was filling the caps with a powdered herb. I suggest filling these with only dry ingredients unless you plan on consuming them immediately since any liquids will cause them to dissolve. Overall I'm pleased and will probably be ordering these again

The capsule is small enough that it's easy to swallow, but big enough for about a quarter teaspoon of volume, which worked out to about 800mg of powder (the weight will vary, of course, depending on what you fill it with)

Read More...I have used these gelatin capsules with good success - so don't let the "negative" reviews deter you (>80% satisfaction is pretty good, in my opinion!). I purchase bulk powders from Bulk Supplements and other sellers, which often times can be put into a shake, but sometimes the product is just too gritty and dense to be used in a shake (i.e., garcinia cambogia). Other reasons I create my own capsules is because it can be cheaper and I don't worry about all of the weird additives, although I don't usually get too bent out of shape about additives, unless it is some sort of sugar. Also, if you have a small scale, sometimes you can be shorted on the milligrams by some companies...it happens, I guess...but that doesn't mean I like it! I have not had any issues using these capsules. I actually like the feel of them right out of the bag - sounds weird, I know, but they are thick and easy to grasp. There are other capsules that are very thin and very slick, making them easy to bend and destroy before you even get the powder in! I have found that different powders work differently, and I found that the lighter the powder, the more capsules I lost once I compressed them using the Capsule Machine. Here are some examples: Cissus Quadrangularis: powder is dense but very humid/sticky, sticks to everything in spite of having 3 dessicant packages in the jar. I have not had any issues capping this powder. However, the longer the CQ is exposed to air, the more humid the powder becomes, which would make capping impossible (so I cap a maximum of 72 capsules at once). Zero capsules lost. Calcium Pyruvate: powder is granular and very dense, not humid; very dry and easy to cap. Zero capsules lost. HMB: powder is very light and almost fluffy; can begin to stick to fingers after the first set of caps are complete. I lost 3 capsules during the joining of 72 capsules. I don't like that this happened, but it did. Do I think they were defective capsules? Probably not (but I have seen ONE). I think it just depends on the powder being capped, and how meticulous I might need to be when joining the capsules. Overall, these are easy to use and are of good quality! Read More...About 1 in 8-10 of the capsules have a slight tear in the side that make it impossible to put it back together once it's been filled, which isn't a humongous deal to me, but can be annoying if I'm in a rush. Also noticed now that I'm near the end of the first bag, about 20% of the capsules have another “top”, on top of the original. So I have quite a few empty tops with no bottom. But you can't beat the price, or value, so that's why I purchased them again

My husband packs the capsules and they work fantastic. Now I can make my own capsules and save a lot of money. Not to mention consuming the correct amount of supplements is so much easier now, I don't have to taste any of it because it is packed in a capsule. What a great price for so many
