Works as good as Dona's Crystalline Glucosamine!

I have pretty severe osteoarthritis, esp. in feet, ankles, knees and shoulders; my husband has very painful arthritis in his hip. Glucosamine (even the sulfate) never did much for me before, until I found and used Dona's Crystalline glucosamine. That really completely took away my husband's hip pain, and was helpful, but not so dramatically, for my pains. The problem was the cost: $60.00 a month for us both! So I tried Puritan's Pride--amazing! It works as well as Dona's! I was quite surprised. And the cost is much much less. My joints certainly are not those of a child, even with this glucosamine, but the pain is improved, and my knee isn't coming out of joint so much anymore. And my husband still has 100% relief, which is good, since he spends a lot of time on his feet and (recently) climbing ladders. I think Puritan's Pride, an old fashioned company that has been around for decades, genuinely makes quality products

An orthopedic surgeon prescribed Glucosamine Sulfate (1,000 mg/day) years ago for knee pain after I fell on my knee. He advised against added chondroitin as it adds nothing. I've been using Glucosamine for 15 years or more. This product works though I don't have brand loyalty to any particular brand

Powder filled capsule…not a solid pill.

These are sulfate powder filled capsules. My husband has been on these for 40 years. He could barely get into a tall truck. After a few weeks ( they must build up in your system) he could get up into an 18 wheeler without pain. Does have very little pain from osteoarthritis in all these years & he is in his 70's. Have tried many brands of this as well as solid pills...none work like this one for him

HIP PAIN GREATLY REDUCED

My husband had tried so many glucosamine products and still had recurring hip pain that did not go away even with icing. Then I read an article stating the gulcosamine sulfate was the most effective product for easing joint pain and indeed it is for us. He no longer needs to ice his hip although he still has some residual hip pain but the degree of pain is considerably less. We are buying our second bottle and will continue to use if daily

So far so good.

I only have two days using this product but so far my right knee is feeling better - even though I've read it takes up to 3 months to see the effects of this sort of supplement. Perhaps it's placebo? Or the Carlson Fish Oil I purchased no long ago making strides in my joints? Who knows. For now, while taking these two supplements and using the TELALEO Knee Sleeves to do my leg routine at the gym, my right knee is feeling the best it has ever felt in the past 2 months. I shall update the review as time goes on. Edit 1 - Update 7.4.2017: Have to add this thing is working. I take one in the morning with the breakfast and one at night with the dinner. Removing the Fish Oil and just sticking with this also didn't present any difference. H#ck, I'm feeling better withouth the Fish Oil altogether for the right knee problem. Basically the best Glucosamine I have ever bought online

Safe and effective

I did my research and found out there are several types of Glucosamine you can buy for joint pain. Although most people hear about Chondroitin, it's actually Glucosamine Sulfate that has the best clinical results. The sulfate is harder to find and I settled on this one because the price is really good. My husband has bad knees and swears by this

THIS PRODUCT WAS MISLABELED AND SOLD AS GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE BEFORE !

I have ordered this product 6 times as "glucosamine sulfate 1000 mg", specifically because glucosamine sulfate is supported by scientific studies. When I tried to reorder it, it suddenly appears as "glucosamine HCl 680 mg", which is a completely different compound, which I definitely have not bought 6 times before. I wonder whether it has been glucosamine HCl all along and not glucosamine sulfate. It seems that here a similar thing has happened as with the Doctor's Best glucosamine sulfate (still offered as such at Amazon). The latter, according to a class action settlement (referred to by Amazon in an email of yesterday) instead contains "glucosamine hydrochloride and potassium sulfate and is mislabeled as containing Glucosamine Sulfate". In any case, because of the scientific evidence, I would like to buy and recommend glucosamine sulfate and not glucosamine HCl. Note added on 4/3/2022: That this product was indeed mislabeled as Glucosamine Sulfate before, probably knowingly, can be seen in the (misleading) answer the manufacturer gave to the question posed on 3 November 2021 by a concerned customer. (See newest question in "Question & Answers".) Contrary to the manufacturers claim that this was only an improvement in labeling, Glucosamine Sulfate is a completely different compound than the compound Glucosamine HCL with the added ingredient Potassium Sulfate! This is important because only Glucosamine Sulfate has been shown to be effective in previous scientific studies. The only conclusion is that exactly the same product has been mislabeled and sold as "Glucosamine Sulfate" before, and that the customers who bought it have been misled! The duped customers should get a refund for their purchases!

When looking for this product, I checked the NIH site and found the sulfate product was deemed effective, the HCL product was not proven effective. I started taking two tablet a day. Several months later, I realized that my knees did not hurt, so I reduced my intake to one tablet a day. Since then, no problems. A co-volunteer told me that glucosamine did not work for her. She had been taking the HCL product. I convinced her to try the sulfate product, she did, it worked

Helped my “bum knee” in just a few months

I tore something in my knee a few years ago, and although it mostly healed, I still had days where it hurt and twinged while walking. A friend told me to try Glucosamine, so I did some research and ordered Puritan's Pride. I've used several of their other supplements (fish oil, probiotics, vitamin D) and feel that they give good quality and are reasonably priced. I've used their glucosamine daily for about three months now, and I feel I can tell a difference in my knee. I have very little discomfort and no crackling sound when I squat. My husband took it for about a month but didn't feel it did anything for his old rotator cuff injury. As we get older, stuff starts to ache and work less smoothly than when we were young. Glucosamine has a long, proven track record for helping cartilage and joints, so it's just a matter of picking a reputable company for the supplements. I'm very happy with Puritan's Pride brand and will order again when my bottle is nearly empty

Best Glucosamine Sulfate

Works very well for our family. Dissolves easily in water (I break open the capsule) and does a good job of easing joint pains. Great product at a good price
