Concerns about ingredients
45 people found this helpful
I did not check all the ingredients when I bought this vitamin, but today I opened the bottle and found titanium dioxide listed. It can cause burns and cancer if inhaled. While it says ingestion isn’t a problem, I can’t help but worry about its effects on my stomach or colon. I really don’t understand why products can't be made with only natural ingredients. It’s my fault for not reading thoroughly. I won't be purchasing this product again.

Avoid carcinogenic ingredients

I usually choose Puritan Pride products, but not this time. This product contains titanium dioxide, a whitening agent that is classified as a carcinogen and can cause cancer. Some users have taken it for years, but according to the NIH, we lack reliable data on its toxicity when orally ingested. Long-term exposure in studies has shown harmful effects. If Puritan Pride values consumer health, they must discontinue using this ingredient found in plastics.
