Good if you need a high dose, but a health risk otherwise
Due to years of surgeries and antibiotic usage, my body doesn't have great flora. I'm prone to UTIs and yeast infections. I started taking probiotics late last year at a 5 billion CFU/day rate. Well, my usual probiotic ran out of stock on Amazon - and I needed a refill in two days. This was the only supplement I could find with comparable ingredients that didn't contain something I'm deathly allergic to. The good: It worked great! No infections of any sort. It didn't hurt my gut or stomach at all and I felt perfectly fine...mostly. (More on that in the bad.) It's also very reasonably priced compared to other probiotics. The bad: About a week after I started taking it I noticed a slight itch in my crotch. I had a lot going on between a new job, a move, and stress, along with dealing with a much more humid area than I've ever been in. I didn't connect the issue to the probiotic change. Well, the itch worsened and I developed a rash between my labia over the course of a month. No doctor could tell me what it was, and it didn't respond to any treatment. After two and a half months of misery I finally pieced together the dots. I swapped back to my previous probiotic and the rash faded within days. Now, two weeks later, it's finally gone entirely. I'm sure this product is fantastic for people that need such a high dosage, but for me it led to health complications and an awful lot of pain. Ladies, if you're taking this, keep an eye out for a rash of any sort *anywhere* on your body. I figured I was safe since I wasn't feeling anything in my throat or in my stomach. Boy, was I wrong! Stay safe and feel better <3 And if you find yourself feeling at all odd in the crotch from this, please research lactobacillus overgrowth
