Evening primrose oil reduces LDL cholesterol
We examined the effects of evening primrose oil, high in gammalinolenic acid, on cholesterol levels in nineteen patients with high cholesterol. This study used a rigorous crossover design where participants received both the evening primrose oil and a placebo safflower oil over 16 weeks.

During the evening primrose oil treatment, we noticed a significant reduction in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels and apolipoprotein B in patients without hypertriglyceridemia. These findings suggest that evening primrose oil can be beneficial for individuals struggling with high cholesterol.

Gamma-linolenic acid reduces cholesterol
We explored how evening primrose oil (EPO) affects cholesterol levels by comparing its effects with safflower oil and olive oil in male rats on high-cholesterol diets.

Our findings revealed that EPO was more effective at lowering cholesterol than safflower oil, particularly in the initial two weeks. Even when the phytosterol content was equalized, EPO continued to show better results.

This suggests that gamma-linolenic acid in EPO has a notable cholesterol-lowering effect, which may be significant for potential applications in dietary management.

Evening primrose oil and HDL effects
We investigated the impact of evening primrose oil on cholesterol levels using New Zealand White rabbits. A noteworthy increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol was observed after four weeks of supplementation, which persisted even two weeks after stopping the oil.

However, overall plasma cholesterol and triglycerides remained unchanged. We saw significant alterations in HDL subfractions, with an increase in HDL2b and HDL3c. These results indicate that n-6 fatty acid supplementation could help prevent atherosclerosis in the long run.

Helpful for menopause relief

My mother (56) sought relief from menopause symptoms. Previously, she'd tried less effective primrose oil. Upon switching to a higher-quality brand—I saw immediate results. She reported the hot flashes dissipated by day three, and her condition improved. The capsules are easy to take, and this remedy proves effective in combating her symptoms. I occasionally use it for breast tenderness, and it remains the only treatment that works for me.

Excellent! This is a very high quality product. Evening primrose oil has normalised my menstrual cycle. I took this supplement (one capsule daily), and my cycle became 27 days for four months, which I don’t think is a coincidence. Additionally, menstruation was less painful than usual. This brand consistently produces high quality supplements with beneficial omega-6 ingredients. There’s no taste or smell, and the pills are easy to swallow. I recommend this supplement to all women!

Amazing! I take these bags as advised by my doctor. Being middle-aged and not consuming much fish, I supplement with Omega oil. The quality and ingredients are excellent, and this has notably improved my hair and reduced hair loss. Notably, my high cholesterol has now decreased, which I also attribute to changes in my diet and continued exercise. I'm extremely pleased with the results.

Side effect - increased libido! My favourite oil! I take 1300 capsules in cycles: the first month, one capsule twice a day, then once a day for two months. It has significantly improved my premenopausal symptoms, stabilised my temperature regulation, reduced irritability, and decreased headaches. An unexpected bonus was an increase in libido. Highly recommend! Good health to you!
