Don't get this ginger! Its not worth the price.

I disliked this product. Number one: it dosen't snell like genger root at all. Number two: Its not what I expected at all. It doesn't look like genger roots at all. Its cut and shifted until you can't tell whether its genger. And last but least, It comes from "China." I was not aware of it until I received this product, also I found out its not returnable. I won't recommend it to anyone. Its the worst ginger I have seen yet. (My lost)

Smell and taste not as good as I would like.

The ginger didn't smell very good. The taste wasn't as good as I would have liked either. The ginger I usually buy for tea was out of stock so I decided to try this brand. One of the things I loved about the other brand is it had a great smell. Just like fresh ginger. This brand didn't smell fresh and had a somewhat unpleasant smell. The taste isn't too bad in tea, but not as good as my usual brand. It's not a bad product, just not as good quality as I would like. The price is better but I will go back to buying the other brand

It came out better than the pre-roasted kind — very caramel-y and nutty …

Bought this non-roasted version originally by mistake. It was almost $7 cheaper than the roasted kind by the same company. So when I opened it and realized my mistake, I just turned on my skillet and roasted it myself. It came out better than the pre-roasted kind -- very caramel-y and nutty flavor that I drink every day with coconut milk as my coffee substitute. I'm finally off caffeine

I use this with dried Organic Elderberries to make a strong syrup (but I skip the sweetener) to help build my immune system. :

Who knew…

If I knew about this Ginger, I would have bought it when they were charging $5 a pound for fresh ginger in the supermarket. I make strong batches of tea and stored it in the fridge. I use more than I should that way I don't have to boil it everyday.. I boil it once or twice then I store it in the fridge when my batch of tea get low I bowl it again a few more times. I boil it until it tastes like water. Lol yes I want to get my money's worth. Since I make it so strong I only need a little bit everyday. The only thing I boill everyday is water for green tea I add a little of my concoction from the fridge to cool it down and there you go

So much better than the powder – Has the taste and zing …

Wow! This is some fresh ginger! So much better than the powder - Has the taste and zing of freshly cut ginger! I am really impressed, and can't wait to use this for tea, for a hair rinse, and for cooking. It's so good I was actually eating it right out of the bag. :) I've always been happy with Starwest herbs, the herbs are always fresh, taste the way they should, good quality, never had any problems with contamination or anything like that. Definitely recommend

Taste like dirt smells with a bit of ginger spice.

Well it does have the spicy ginger flavor but it also tastes like dirt smells, all I can figure is it went straight from being dug to chopping without being washed good. It literally smells and tastes like dirt smells. But you do get a nice ginger spice taste mixed with the dirt taste no it's not completely horrible just mostly

My favorite for ginger root tea.

Makes great ginger tea, strong and great tasting dried root. Definitely helps with upset tummie

SO good. Great organic ginger root with no preservatives
