The Benefits of Ginger, POTS Treatment

Ginger has been widely studied for its potential health benefits, including its effects on various cardiovascular conditions. However, as of the available medical research, there is limited evidence specifically addressing whether Ginger is beneficial for preventing or helping with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).

One small study published in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology in 2013 investigated the effects of Ginger supplementation on orthostatic intolerance, a common symptom of POTS The researchers found that Ginger extract improved the duration of orthostatic tolerance, reduced symptoms of lightheadedness, and decreased heart rate increase upon standing in a group of patients with orthostatic intolerance, which included POTS patients. While these findings are encouraging, more research is needed to confirm these results and determine the appropriate dosage and long-term effects of Ginger supplementation in POTS patients.
