We reviewed various studies to see how effective glucosamine and similar chondroprotectors are for treating chronic back pain.

Our findings indicated that these drugs may provide pain relief comparable to traditional anti-inflammatory medications, showing potential benefits in reducing inflammation and improving function.

However, the overall evidence suggests that while they can help with osteoarthritis, the support for back pain relief specifically remains limited. This means glucosamine might not be the go-to treatment for everyone suffering from back issues.

We examined the effectiveness of a chondroprotector called Sustagard Artro against traditional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for easing lower back pain.

Our study involved sixty patients with spondylarthrosis, divided into two groups receiving either Sustagard Artro or NSAIDs.

After treatment, both groups showed a similar level of pain relief, with no significant differences in effectiveness. This suggests that Sustagard Artro may be a viable alternative to NSAIDs for back pain management.

Glucosamine injections not effective
We examined the effectiveness of glucosamine injections for treating chronic lower back pain in a pilot study. Thirty participants, all struggling with severe back pain for an average of 8.5 years, received injections into their lumbar discs.

After one year, we compared their pain and disability scores to see if there were improvements. Unfortunately, the results indicated no significant change in their condition. While this study highlights the need for more rigorous trials, we're left with no strong evidence to support glucosamine injections for back pain relief.

Stopain has exceptional products! I have tried three for back pain and neck pain: the roller is the best, the aerosol is great, and the pump is good. The rollerball application felt the most potent, allowing me to apply firm pressure to release tight spots. The aerosol spray is easy to use and provides quick relief with its extra-strength formula. The spray bottle offers large size options with menthol as the active ingredient. I wholeheartedly recommend the rollerball stick and aerosol spray. They apply differently but effectively target back pain.

Amazing! My debilitating lower back problems have troubled me for about 15 years. I dislike pills and have tried numerous ointments without success until purchasing the Stopain roll-on and spray. The scent is mild, and the product begins to work within 10-15 minutes, lasting for hours. The only drawback is the initial cold sensation upon application, but the relief it provides far outweighs this minor issue. This product has made a significant difference for my back pain, and I’m glad I tried it.

Great temporary relief from chronic pain! I have been using this for several years and it remains my go-to for arthritis and back pain. No cure, but it helps with the daily symptoms. Very easy to use, though do be careful not to get it in your eyes as it stings quite a bit. I find the spray easier for some areas. I would recommend it for anyone needing temporary relief from muscle pain.

Good pain reliever! I buy Stopain for relief as it works temporarily for me from back pain as well as headaches. I prefer the roll-on as it’s easier to manage than sprays. I have cut down the roller from these bottles for family members needing portable pain relief. The value is good, and it lasts long in our home.

This product truly works! My husband and I, both with chronic back pain and degenerative disc disease, find Stopain Extra Strength Roll-On invaluable. It makes our pain manageable for varying durations, sometimes lasting hours. I've had numerous surgeries, and this product provides significant relief. Just a word of caution: adhere to the recommended usage to avoid skin irritation. Overall, it genuinely alleviates back pain.
