Many uses for Borage Oil

Borage is a plant. Its flowers and leaves, as well as the oil from its seeds are used as medicine. Borage seed oil is used for skin disorders including eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and neurodermatitis. It is also used for rheumatoid arthritis (RA), stress, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), diabetes, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), alcoholism, pain and swelling (inflammation), and for preventing heart disease and stroke. I"m pretty sure these along with evening primrose oil are making my hair grow like crazy. they along with paraben and sulfate free shampoo and conditioner have eliminated my itchy winter scalp. nails are growing back strong after a bad manicure that sanded off the top layer. Stars taken off for being sourced from China. Will not buy the NOW brand borage again. While I love Borage oil I will be buying an ethically and organically sourced brand in future. Vote with your dollars

Great oil for skin

For those who have used Vit. E oil on their skin, just let me say that Borage Oil works much better and isn't sticky. I just make a small hole in the capsule and there is enough oil for 3 or 4 applications. I either mix it with my moisturizer or put the oil on first then the moisturizer. I am 77 years old and my skin looks really good. Yep, I have some sags but hardly any wrinkles even under my eyes. I stopped taking it orally but am starting back as I'm experiencing some aches and pains in my hips and legs that I never had before. I'm wondering if it was the Borage Oil that was helping. I'm going to try 2 capsules a day and see if it helps. I've never used anything but the NOW brand. I've seen the liquid advertised but would have to keep it refrigerated and I think it stays fresher in the capsules

I take this along with celadrin for arthritis. My finger joints started swelling and hurting. Someone suggested taking this and within a week there the pain that had started in my right hand had stopped. My left hand was in much worse shape. One knuckle had already swollen and would turn red and get really hot. The pain was to the point that I could not even let my grandkids touch my hand. It took a couple of weeks for the really bad knuckle to stop hurting but now I have no pain at all and can live my life normally

Buyer Beware of ANY Borage Oil Product

On the plus side, NOW's Borage Oil is high in GLA, and is compliant with the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines. However, the product label does not indicate whether Pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), which are common in Borage flowers, seeds, and leaves, have been removed. Since any producer of Borage Oil pills which was able to remove PAs would certainly indicate this on their label if they had done so (a significant benefit and differentiator to promote versus their competitors who have not removed PAs), it is very likely NOW has not removed the PAs. Why you should care: PAs can cause significant damage to the liver and even cancer, in high doses. I checked at least 10 manufacturers of Borage Oil pills, and none of them indicated that the product was PA-free. Consequently, I'm reducing my Borage Oil significantly, and instead taking Evening Primrose Oil

Nothing more effective for my acne

After seeing a video on youtube extolling the benefits of borage oil for acne sufferers I decided to give it a try. I've been battling acne since I was 12, so around 33 years. In that time I've tried just about everything over the counter and have been prescribed Retin A and tetracycline all having moderate to little effect and none with the exception of tetracycline doing anything to PREVENT new pimples from forming. That is until I started taking borage oil. Now I know everyone is different, but for me this was a game changer. I started noticing a clearer face within the first week, but blew it off as just being in between break outs. As the days went on I noticed that I hadn't gotten any new pimples. After 3 weeks I still hadn't had another breakout and my wife started noticing that I was much clearer as well. Not only was my face clearer, but I also hadn't gotten any new pimples on my back or chest area either. I do still have some tiny blackheads around the nostrils that are really only noticeable to me. With those blackheads the only thing I've been able to get rid of them with is the Biore strips. I have to say I'm just shocked at how effective it was for me. I had already resigned myself to just having to live with acne so when I picked this up I wasn't expecting much. What a different experience high school would've been if I had taken this stuff back then. Anyway, if you've tried everything and haven't had any luck then I'd definitely give this a go. For me it was life changing and I know that might sound like hyperbole, but when you've had acne for as long me, having a clear face is just that......life changing

Has helped with menstrual cramps…

I buy all of my supplements based on Consumer Lab reviews. It illustrates the brands that the amount of ingredients that are advertised and also checks the quality of the ingredients in general. Anyways, I bought this as part of a routine that I've put together to reduce my menstrual pain each month. I have Endometriosis and finding natural ways to combat pain has been a journey. I heard that Borage Oil is great for it and along with my other supplements, I have noticed a big difference in my pain level. It also helps with the flow itself. I take 1 pill everyday and the week before my period, I take 2 pills in the morning and 2 in the evening. I would definitely recommend this for women who need some help with menstrual relief

Works great for arthritis and psoriasis.

I grew weary of going to doctors and taking potentially harmful medications for my arthritis and psoriasis. I began taking Borage Oil soft gels at bedtime and was pleasantly surprised at how limber my feet and hands became overnight. The arthritis stiffness is gone. My husband tried them for his stiff shoulders and says that he has not had pain in his shoulders since he started taking the Borage Oil. I have been controlling my psoriasis with a vegetarian diet but have occasional outbreaks of itchy red patches. I have noticed that my skin has cleared a little since taking this Borage Oil. My chin broke out with psoriasis and couldn't be hidden with makeup. I broke open a soft gel and treated my chin with this oil and the psoriasis cleared really fast. Now I use it on my face every morning after a gentle cleansing. Then I apply makeup lightly. I have received numerous compliments at work about my now lovely complexion. I am thankful for this Borage Oil and have recommended it to my dearest friends. It works great

It works!

Borage Oil is fantastic! My daughter had eczema in the crook of her arm and voila! Two nights of applying the oil and her eczema is gone!! It has repaired the eczema under her eyes also - but she smokes and it is a known fact that the blowback of smoke can really irritate the under eye skin. I apply this oil on my face for an overnight treatment - and it is great! My skin stays supple, as good as another more expensive product I was using. btw, we just puncture the capsules with a heavy needle and the hole covers over for two applications. Surprisingly, this oil is absorbed as opposed to just sitting on the surface of our skin

Taking two capsules a day for a few months now. Acne is gone and scars are healing. Everyone's body is different but if you suffer from body/facial acne it's definitely worth a shot. It improved my skin drastically. Will buy again for sure
