Dr. Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health, the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Zhao had medical training in her undergraduate study, graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Science in Capital Medical University, and then recommended to Peking University for her postgraduate study, where she graduated with a Master of Medical Science. Dr. Zhao had a high-quality PhD training in epidemiology at the University of Hong Kong, where she obtained her PhD degree ahead of a year, with distinction. Dr Zhao has been working on the role of endocrine factors in health, as well as identifying modifiable targets in disease prevention and treatment. She is experienced in using various study designs, especially the novel study design, Mendelian randomization, which incorporate genetic variants to large cohorts and case-control studies. She is also in charge of a randomized controlled trial and an epigenome-wide association study.
