Masahiro Abe is a researcher at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) in Japan. He has a background in internal medicine and infectious diseases, with a focus on fungal infections. He completed his Ph.D. research on fungal infections at NIID / Tohoku University and currently leads the Laboratory of Medical Mycology at NIID. His research interests include Candida species infections, disseminated candidiasis, vulvovaginal candidiasis, and gastrointestinal colonization. He aims to improve patient outcomes by studying the pathogenesis of fungal infections, developing early diagnosis methods, and novel therapies.
