Academic experience: Professor of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy in Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. Head of Pharmaceutics Department, Faculty of Pharmacy and Drug Technology, The Egyptian Chinese University. Master (2001) & PhD (2005) Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University with over 50 articles in international multidisciplinary journals. Academic and professional experience for over 25 years. Supervises/d +30 Master and PhD students. Industrial collaboration: With special focus on developing local pharmaceutical industry by collaborating with pharmaceutical companies in addressing manufacturing challenges and implementing GMP, TQM & LEAN principles. Led the project “Investigating the root cause of N-nitrosodimethylamine formation in metformin pharmaceutical products” funded by and executed in AlEsraa Pharmaceuticals facility, Badr city, Egypt. Won the first prize in “The Pharma Sustainability Innovation Challenge” in the concept idea “sustainable packaging solutions”, FOPCU 11th International Scientific Conference 2023 competition. Attained Eudragit 2018 award for best paper in EMEA region, Evonik, Darmstadt, Germany in 2019. Funded projects: Managed to secure funds for 6 projects in the field of nanomedicine and theranostics with funding bodies as STDF and IRG. Consultancy: Member of “registration of medical devices committee”, Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), responsible for approving manufacturing medical devices facilities registration of their products. Leading training programs to pharmacists in collaboration with HOLDI PHARMA and Egyptian Pharmaceutical Syndicate. Shared editing the 5th Egyptian Pharmacopeia 2023. Research interest Extensive research experience spanning from application of nanotechnology as drug delivery systems to protein delivery, phytomedicine, tissue regeneration, and application of photodynamic therapy.
