ALC shows neuroprotective potentialAcetyl-l-carnitine protects dopaminergic nigrostriatal pathway in 6-hydroxydopamine-induced model of Parkinson's disease in the rat.
The study aimed to assess whether acetyl-l-carnitine (ALC) could protect neurons in a rat model of Parkinson's disease.
We found that ALC at 200mg/kg significantly improved motor functions and reduced indicators of neuroinflammation and oxidative stress.
Additionally, it helped preserve important dopaminergic neurons and reduced cell death markers.
Overall, our results suggest ALC could serve as a supplementary treatment for Parkinson's by combating the illness's damaging processes.

Being a vegetarian, both my mental and physical strength have diminished. However, after eating this product, my physical energy and spirits have noticeably improved, prompting me to consider purchasing it again. Now, the prices are quite reasonable. My father-in-law was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, suffering from constant hand tremors. Previously, he overused his L-rotator muscle, making the symptoms more pronounced. After switching to carnitine, his hand tremors have shown improvement, although he needs to take two pills daily, which he is reluctant to do, fearing it may exacerbate his symptoms.
