Zinc reduces diarrhea, colds in infants
Daily Zinc but Not Multivitamin Supplementation Reduces Diarrhea and Upper Respiratory Infections in Tanzanian Infants: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial.
We investigated the impact of daily multivitamin and zinc supplementation on the health of Tanzanian infants. In our randomized, double-blind study involving 2,400 infants, we compared the effects of these supplements against a placebo over 18 months.
Our findings revealed that while zinc significantly reduced occurrences of diarrhea and acute respiratory infections, multivitamins did not provide additional benefits. Ultimately, zinc supplementation starting at 6 weeks may be beneficial for reducing some common illnesses in infants, but multivitamins did not show any significant positive impact.

I take Solgar B-Complex 50, one capsule daily. After 1.5 months, I observed significant improvement in my eye fatigue after long hours in front of screens. It worked far better than lutein and blueberries for my eyes. My nervous system felt stable, though I may need magnesium for optimal calm. I also experienced noticeable fat loss in my waist, while maintaining my skin condition and atopic dermatitis remained controlled with no exacerbations.

Vitamin D3 improves cold symptoms
Intake of 25-Hydroxyvitamin D3 Reduces Duration and Severity of Upper Respiratory Tract Infection: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel Group Comparison Study.
We conducted a thorough investigation into how 25-hydroxyvitamin D3, commonly referred to as vitamin D3, impacts upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs), particularly the common cold. This study was carried out as a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, engaging 428 participants, all aged between 45 and 74, across three clinics in Japan.
Participants were divided into two groups, with one receiving a daily dose of 10 μg of vitamin D3, while the other took a placebo for 16 weeks. Our findings highlighted that those who took vitamin D3 experienced a reduction in the duration of their upper respiratory symptoms, as well as a decrease in severity and improvement in their quality of life during illness.
Overall, our results indicate that supplementing with vitamin D3 might be a proactive step in handling the discomforts associated with common colds. This simple addition to one's daily routine could lead to a notably better experience when facing URTIs, providing a hopeful outlook for those looking for relief from their symptoms.

Iodine reduces rhinovirus infections
Interruption of experimental rhinovirus transmission.
We explored the effectiveness of 2% aqueous iodine in preventing infections caused by rhinoviruses, the culprits behind the common cold. In a controlled setting, volunteers had their fingers treated with iodine before being exposed to the virus. Remarkably, none of the eight participants who received the iodine treatment became infected immediately afterwards. In contrast, all of the seven volunteers treated with a placebo did get infected.
We also noticed that when exposure occurred two hours after iodine application, only one out of ten volunteers fell victim to the virus, whereas six out of ten in the placebo group became ill. The difference was notable, though not quite statistically significant. Additionally, tests showed virus presence in only 11% of hand washes from those who used iodine, compared to 41% from the placebo group, suggesting that iodine may substantially reduce virus contamination on hands.
Overall, these findings indicate that using iodine could be an effective strategy in preventing common cold infections, especially right after treatment. It seems that applying iodine to our hands may serve as a protective measure against rhinovirus, significantly reducing the chances of getting sick.

Zinc shortens cold duration variability
Quantile Treatment Effect of Zinc Lozenges on Common Cold Duration: A Novel Approach to Analyze the Effect of Treatment on Illness Duration.
We explored how zinc lozenges affect the duration of the common cold through a detailed analysis of multiple trials. In particular, we focused on the Mossad (1996) trial involving zinc gluconate lozenges, which revealed an average reduction of cold duration by about 4.0 days. While that sounds promising, our findings through a quantile treatment effect (QTE) analysis tell a more nuanced story.
Interestingly, the QTE analysis showed that for individuals suffering from lengthy colds lasting 15 to 17 days, the zinc lozenges could shorten their illness by as much as 8 days. On the flip side, those with shorter, 2-day colds only experienced a 1-day reduction in sickness. This suggests that while zinc may help, its effectiveness varies significantly depending on the initial duration of the cold, making the overall average effect less informative than we might think.
Our examination extended to three trials that used zinc acetate lozenges, yielding a similar average reduction of around 2.7 days. However, again, those averages concealed varying effects for short and long colds, highlighting the importance of looking beyond simple averages in treatment studies.
Overall, we observed that zinc lozenges can indeed help with cold duration, but the extent of that help is very much dependent on how long a person has been suffering. This approach to understanding treatment effects through QTE analysis could have important implications not just for cold treatment but also for analyzing other health outcomes.

Vitamin A supports airway function recovery
Vitamin A deficiency alters airway resistance in children with acute upper respiratory infection.
We examined the role of vitamin A in helping children recover from upper respiratory infections.
In our case control study involving children aged 4-6, we found that those with respiratory infections had lower vitamin A levels compared to healthy kids.
Surprisingly, while vitamin A seems to support airway function during recovery, children with wheezing did not show the same benefits.
Overall, vitamin A appears vital for maintaining healthy respiratory function, especially when kids are fighting off infections.

Even my discerning eater adores it! My child is quite selective with vegetables, leading us to try various gummy supplements. The Japanese vitamin gummy was bitter and rejected. However, my child enjoys this gummy so much that he asks for more! I tried it too, and it has a sticky, sweet taste, surprisingly free from the bitterness typical of vitamin supplements, so I occasionally indulge as well. Since incorporating this, I don't catch common colds as often, and when I do, they are less severe. Perhaps it's just my imagination (lol). If I had to mention a negative point, the lid is extremely difficult to open. You press down and then turn, but there's a trick to it; a strange closure makes it impossible to open, which is a bit troublesome.

Effective for reducing anaemia
Home fortification of foods with multiple micronutrient powders for health and nutrition in children under two years of age.
We explored whether home fortification of foods with multiple micronutrient powders (MNPs) impacts nutrition and health in children under two years. Analyzing 29 studies, we discovered that using MNPs significantly lowered anaemia rates by 18% and iron deficiency by 53%. Moreover, MNPs improved haemoglobin levels compared to no intervention. However, there was no notable influence on weight. While the intervention showed promise for anaemia, its direct effects on other health areas remain unclear, indicating a need for more research in this area.

Elderberry may ease cold symptoms
Elderberry Supplementation Reduces Cold Duration and Symptoms in Air-Travellers: A Randomized, Double-Blind Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial.
In a well-structured study involving 312 economy class passengers, we explored how a specially processed elderberry extract may impact common cold symptoms during air travel. The study used a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design, meaning participants were divided into two groups: one received the elderberry supplement, while the other got a placebo without knowing which they were taking.
We noted that while 12 cold episodes occurred in the elderberry group and 17 in the placebo group, the difference wasn’t statistically significant. However, those in the placebo group experienced a notably longer duration of cold symptoms, with 117 days compared to just 57 days for the elderberry group.
Additionally, the average symptom score—reflecting how severe these symptoms were—was much higher in the placebo group. This suggests that using elderberry might significantly shorten the duration and severity of colds in air travelers. Yet, we should approach these findings with caution, as further research is needed to fully understand the effects on physical and mental health.

Elderberry may reduce cold symptoms
Elderberry Supplementation Reduces Cold Duration and Symptoms in Air-Travellers: A Randomized, Double-Blind Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial.
This study implemented a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design to explore whether elderberry supplements could improve respiratory health for air travelers. We observed 312 economy class passengers traveling from Australia to an overseas destination, aiming to see if a standardized elderberry extract could lessen the duration and severity of cold episodes.
Participants recorded their cold symptoms in daily diaries and completed surveys measuring their upper respiratory conditions and overall quality of life at various points before and after travel. While both groups experienced cold episodes, it was notable that those taking the placebo had a longer duration of symptoms and reported feeling worse overall. Specifically, the placebo group faced cold symptoms for an average of 117 days, compared to just 57 days for those receiving elderberry, and their average symptom scores were substantially higher.
Our analysis points to the potential benefits of elderberry in reducing both the duration and severity of cold symptoms for people traveling by air. However, additional research is necessary to confirm these findings and delve deeper into the possible effects of elderberry on both physical and mental health.

The goal has been achieved; my haemoglobin is normal! I took these vitamins to raise my haemoglobin due to chronic anaemia. After a month of taking one capsule daily, my levels improved, I experienced better sleep, and less hair loss. Remarkably, the vitamins also helped me recover from a common cold swiftly, with no side effects. The price is a pleasant surprise—much cheaper than the alternatives I previously used. I highly recommend these vitamins for both quality and effectiveness!

Curcumin reduces cold symptoms
Effects of Highly Bioavailable Curcumin Supplementation on Common Cold Symptoms and Immune and Inflammatory Functions in Healthy Japanese Subjects: A Randomized Controlled Study.
We embarked on an engaging investigation into how highly bioavailable curcumin, a key component of turmeric, affects common cold symptoms. Our study spanned 12 weeks, involving 99 healthy Japanese adults who were randomly divided into three groups. Two groups received different formulations of curcumin while the third group was given a placebo.
Each participant took four capsules daily, and we measured the cumulative days participants experienced cold symptoms. Interestingly, we discovered that those taking either curcumin formulation reported significantly fewer days with cold symptoms compared to the placebo group.
Additionally, we monitored various immune function markers, inflammatory parameters, and overall safety throughout the study. Notably, we observed no adverse effects from curcumin supplementation, making it a promising option for those looking to mitigate cold symptoms naturally.

Turmeric is incredibly beneficial, especially when paired with black pepper and ginger! This jar lasts four months! Though the capsules are large, I have no trouble swallowing them, and they have a mild taste. When I sensed a cold, I took a double dose along with honey and propolis and didn't fall ill. Turmeric is indeed powerful!

Vitamin D reduces cold severity
Influence of Vitamin D Supplementation by Simulated Sunlight or Oral D3 on Respiratory Infection during Military Training.
We explored the connection between vitamin D levels and the frequency of upper respiratory tract infections (URTI) in physically active individuals throughout different seasons. In our research, we observed over 1,600 military recruits during their basic training, noting that only 21% were vitamin D sufficient during winter. Alarmingly, those who had sufficient vitamin D levels were found to be 40% less likely to experience URTIs compared to their deficient counterparts, suggesting that maintaining adequate vitamin D may be crucial for better respiratory health during demanding training periods.
Building on these findings, we conducted a follow-up study with 250 recruits, where we implemented various vitamin D supplementation strategies. Participants received either a placebo, simulated sunlight exposure, or oral vitamin D3 supplementation. The results were promising: vitamin D helped alleviate the severity of URTI symptoms and significantly reduced the number of days experiencing a cold. Notably, both sunlight and dietary supplementation were equally effective in boosting vitamin D levels and improving outcomes.
Overall, achieving vitamin D sufficiency can markedly reduce the burden of URTIs, particularly in physically demanding scenarios such as military training.

DHA reduces infant cold symptoms
Prenatal docosahexaenoic acid supplementation and infant morbidity: randomized controlled trial.
We conducted a double-blind randomized controlled trial to understand how prenatal supplementation of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) might influence infant health, particularly concerning the common cold. Pregnant women were given either a daily dose of 400 mg of DHA or a placebo starting at 18 to 22 weeks of gestation until childbirth.
Caregivers then reported on their infants’ health at 1, 3, and 6 months, sharing details about common illness symptoms. We found that DHA supplementation appeared to reduce the number of colds at one month and also seemed to lessen the duration of various cold symptoms in infants. Specifically, infants in the DHA group experienced fewer cold symptoms and had shorter durations of cough and wheezing.
While the overall occurrence of specific illness symptoms was similar between the DHA and placebo groups, DHA did bring about noteworthy benefits. At 1 month, infants in the DHA group had a 26% shorter duration of cough and 30% shorter wheezing; however, they experienced a longer duration of rash.
Furthermore, by the time the infants reached 3 months, those whose mothers took DHA were ill for 14% less time overall. At 6 months, the DHA group showed significantly reduced durations of several illness indicators, although they did experience longer episodes of vomiting.
This study suggests that prenatal DHA not only seems to impact the occurrence of colds in children but may also play a role in the duration of symptoms over the first half-year of life.

Omega-3 effects on viral infections
Rationale and design of the pragmatic randomized trial of icosapent ethyl for high cardiovascular risk adults (MITIGATE).
We examined the MITIGATE study, focusing on the effects of icosapent ethyl (IPE), a purified omega-3 fatty acid, in adults with cardiovascular disease at risk for viral upper respiratory infections.
With about 16,500 participants, this clinical trial compared IPE treatment against usual care. The goal was to see if IPE could lessen the severity and impact of viral infections over six months.
Unfortunately, there was no significant evidence found that IPE improved outcomes for upper respiratory infections in this group.

Micronutrient treatment reduces cold symptoms
[Dietary efficacy of a micronutrient combination in patients with recurrent upper respiratory tract infections. Results of a placebo-controlled double-blind study].
We evaluated how a specific mix of vitamins and minerals, including selenium, influences recurrent colds in a group of 192 patients over 16 weeks. This randomized, placebo-controlled study showed that those receiving the micronutrient combination experienced a greater improvement in cold symptoms compared to the placebo group.
Notably, individuals below 45 reported fewer job absences due to colds. Overall, vitamin and mineral levels increased significantly for those on the treatment, suggesting that micronutrients may enhance immune defense and reduce the severity of common colds. However, the specific role of selenium in these improvements needs more exploration.

Vitamin E's complex effects on colds
The effect of vitamin E on common cold incidence is modified by age, smoking and residential neighborhood.
We examined how vitamin E affects common cold incidence among different groups. In our study involving over 14,500 participants, we found that older smokers living in cities benefited from vitamin E, showing a 46% reduction in cold risk.
In contrast, those who smoked more and lived in rural areas faced a higher cold risk with vitamin E intake. This suggests that vitamin E's impact can vary greatly based on age, smoking habits, and where one lives, indicating the need for cautious public health guidelines regarding vitamin E supplementation.

Those supplemented with EpiCor reported significantly fewer symptoms and a shorter duration of illness compared to those on the placebo. This suggests that EpiCor may offer a beneficial approach to reducing cold and flu-like symptoms.

N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) is a versatile agent that has positively impacted my health. I often use it to detox my liver and combat heavy metals, while its antioxidant properties enhance glutathione production. I take it to manage metabolic syndrome indicators like weight gain and hypertension. Particularly for common colds with sputum, NAC is a fantastic mucolytic and expectorant. Upon the first signs of illness, I take 2 capsules at night and usually feel better by morning. It significantly alleviates cold symptoms and boosts my resistance.

Excellent cold remedy! It's an absolute analogue of ACC, and while we have just 10 effervescent tablets, this product provides 60 capsules—a significant difference. Acetylcysteine serves as a mucolytic, expectorant, and antioxidant, effective for respiratory diseases involving viscous sputum. When I feel aches or start to get unwell, I take an ACC capsule at night. Be healthy!

Before taking this daily, I often developed chest infections after a simple cold. Now, I either don’t get them or if I do, they’re mild. N-acetyl cysteine has been a long-term treatment for similar issues in respiratory patients, and I suspect it aids me when I have a cold. I take 3000mg daily.

Ester C may reduce cold frequency
Preventing the common cold with a vitamin C supplement: a double-blind, placebo-controlled survey.
We conducted a study involving 168 volunteers who were given either a placebo or a vitamin C supplement for 60 days during the cold season. Participants recorded their cold symptoms in a diary, and those on the vitamin C showed promising results.
The groups taking the active treatment reported significantly fewer colds and experienced fewer days of viral illness. Additionally, their severe symptoms lasted less time than those in the placebo group. Most volunteers experienced few side effects and enjoyed using the supplement, finding it more effective than prior vitamin C forms.
Overall, this vitamin C supplement could help prevent colds and ease symptoms, offering hope for better winter health.

When I start to feel unwell with a common cold, I follow nutritionist Katie Young's regimen: Ester C (500mg) four times daily, Zinc picolinate (50mg), and a probiotic (50 billion). This unusual method works remarkably well, helping us feel better in just two days. Vitamin C boosts immunity, Zinc replenishes what we lose during illness, and the Probiotic creates a protective barrier in the digestive tract. We have tested this scheme with the entire family, and I highly recommend it.

I bought these vitamins for my daughter, and despite the capsule size, she finds them easy to swallow. This is a repeat purchase as they effectively help with common colds. The Ester-C formula provides 1000mg of vitamin C, alongside other immunity boosters like vitamins A, D3, B-6, B-9, and B-12. The combination of ingredients also includes elderberry and echinacea, making it a great option for preventing colds. I give my child one capsule daily, while I take two for overall health.

Folate benefits in colds unclear
[Dietary efficacy of a micronutrient combination in patients with recurrent upper respiratory tract infections. Results of a placebo-controlled double-blind study].
We explored the effectiveness of a special combination of micronutrients, including folate, in helping patients who suffer from recurrent upper respiratory tract infections, commonly known as colds. Our study involved 192 participants over 16 weeks in a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind trial that allowed us to compare results objectively.
The findings indicate that patients who had vitamin D deficiency or were low in vitamin C experienced significant benefits when taking the micronutrient combination, and symptoms improved notably compared to those on a placebo. Specifically, individuals with multiple cold symptoms showed greater relief in the active group, with a significant reduction in symptom intensity.
While folate was part of the mix, the study did not isolate its specific impact on cold symptoms. Instead, it highlighted the effectiveness of the whole nutrient combination in reducing the frequency of colds and the intensity of symptoms. Overall, those who received the micronutrient supplement reported improved health outcomes compared to those who didn't.

Although the taste can be off-putting, the benefits for knee pain outweigh that.

Quercetin reduces rhinovirus effects
Quercetin inhibits rhinovirus replication in vitro and in vivo.
We investigated whether quercetin, a natural plant compound, could help combat common cold caused by rhinovirus (RV). In our study, quercetin reduced RV replication and inflammation in airway cells both in laboratory settings and in mice. When given before or after infection, quercetin limited the virus's ability to replicate and decreased harmful immune responses.
While our findings are promising, indicating that quercetin acts at various points in the virus's lifecycle, we recognize the need for further research to solidify its effectiveness in treating or preventing common colds.

When given before or after infection, quercetin limited the virus's ability to replicate and decreased harmful immune responses.
While our findings are promising, indicating that quercetin acts at various points in the virus's lifecycle, we recognize the need for further research to solidify its effectiveness in treating or preventing common colds.

Jarrow Formulas Quercetin has been a part of my daily routine for over four years, at 1000 mg. As a lupus patient with a weakened immune system, I rarely catch the common cold, which is significantly better than before. I attribute my improved health largely to quercetin.

Vitamin C reduces cold severity
Vitamin C reduces the severity of common colds: a meta-analysis.
We explored how vitamin C affects the severity of common colds through a comprehensive review of available studies. By including only randomized, placebo-controlled trials where participants received at least 1 gram of vitamin C daily, we aimed to investigate both the overall duration of colds and the intensity of symptoms experienced.
Our analysis found that vitamin C significantly reduced the severity of cold symptoms by about 15%. Interestingly, it appears that the benefits are more pronounced for those experiencing severe symptoms compared to mild ones. In specific comparisons, vitamin C didn’t substantially affect the duration of mild symptoms but had a notable impact on how long severe symptoms lasted.
This insight is crucial, as the common cold often leads to absenteeism at work and school, with more severe symptoms playing a key role in this setback. By highlighting vitamin C's greater effectiveness against intense cold symptoms, we suggest that future research should continue to look into how this vitamin can be utilized in managing cold severity.

Vitamin C is indispensable during the cold season, as it enhances the absorption of other medications like iron. It's particularly important for smokers since this vitamin is quickly depleted in their bodies. Additionally, Vitamin C combats premature ageing and acts as a strong antioxidant that neutralises toxins.

Probiotics boost immunity, reduce colds
Prospective study of probiotic supplementation results in immune stimulation and improvement of upper respiratory infection rate.
We examined how probiotic supplementation influences the frequency of common colds in adults with a past history of multiple infections. In a carefully designed study where participants were randomly assigned to receive either a probiotic drink or a placebo, we observed that those taking probiotics had fewer upper respiratory infections and less severe flu-like symptoms.
Additionally, there was a notable increase in immune markers among the probiotic group, demonstrating enhanced immune function. However, certain immune indicators showed no significant differences between the groups. Overall, our findings suggest that probiotic drinks can be a safe option for reducing cold occurrences and boosting immunity.

These probiotics work wonders for children! I chose this product after reading reviews as my son frequently fell ill. The weakened immune system necessitated assistance, particularly as gut health is closely linked. After introducing it, my son took a delicious pill before bed without any allergic reactions. We noticed he got sick much less often, especially after combining it with vitamins and Omega. I firmly believe that probiotics should be included in every child's routine to bolster immunity and digestive health!

Lactobacillus reduces cold incidences
Daily intake of fermented milk with Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota reduces the incidence and duration of upper respiratory tract infections in healthy middle-aged office workers.
We evaluated the effectiveness of Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota in reducing upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) among healthy middle-aged office workers. Over 12 weeks, 96 male participants consumed either fermented milk with LcS or a control milk.
Our findings showed a significant reduction in URTI episodes in those consuming the fermented milk—only 22.4% experienced infections compared to 53.2% in the control group. Furthermore, they had shorter illness durations and better immune responses. Overall, it seems that this daily intake can effectively reduce colds in healthy adults.

Echinacea's promise against colds
Echinacea purpurea: A Proprietary Extract of Echinacea purpurea Is Shown to be Safe and Effective in the Prevention of the Common Cold.
In a comprehensive clinical trial, we examined the effectiveness of Echinacea purpurea as a preventative measure against the common cold. This research stands out as the largest of its kind, evaluating both the safety and benefits of Echinacea over a long-term treatment period of four months.
We found that this proprietary extract of Echinacea, known as Echinaforce, proved to be beneficial in several ways. It significantly reduced the total number of cold episodes and the duration of those colds. Additionally, participants required fewer medications to cope with their symptoms, highlighting Echinacea's potential as a natural remedy.
Importantly, the extract showed impressive results, particularly for individuals who often experience recurrent infections. The study also indicated that the more closely individuals followed the recommended protocol, the better the preventive effects. Overall, we feel encouraged by the positive risk-to-benefit ratio of Echinacea purpurea when taken as directed for the common cold.

Multiple micronutrient supplementation using spirulina platensis and infant growth, morbidity, and motor development: Evidence from a randomized trial in Zambia.
We explored the effects of spirulina supplementation on the health of Zambian infants. In a randomized trial, 501 infants were given either soya-maize porridge alone or the same porridge with spirulina for a year.
While physical growth was similar in both groups, those who received spirulina experienced a notable decrease in coughing and showed improved motor milestones, such as walking independently.
This suggests that spirulina can play a role in reducing respiratory issues and enhancing motor development in infants, making it a promising addition to complementary feeding.

Bovine lactoferrin may prevent colds
The clinical efficacy of a bovine lactoferrin/whey protein Ig-rich fraction (Lf/IgF) for the common cold: a double blind randomized study.
We explored whether a combination of bovine lactoferrin and whey protein could effectively lower the frequency of colds and enhance recovery. In a well-controlled clinical trial, 126 participants reported often getting colds. They were divided into groups receiving either the supplement or a placebo for 90 days.
The results were promising: those taking the lactoferrin combination had significantly fewer colds and fewer cold-related symptoms compared to the placebo group. Although some benefits on severity and sick days didn't reach statistical significance, the overall findings suggest that this combination may be a helpful preventive measure for common colds.

I began taking these in October 2016 primarily for my hair, but I noticed a significant improvement in my skin. I had previously struggled with a few pimples, but these gummies transformed my skin completely. For months, I was pimple-free without changing my diet. They made my skin glow, allowing me to stop using foundation altogether. However, when they ran out, I had to switch to rapid-release pills, which haven't helped my skin. After almost seven months without the gummies, I've bought five bottles now that they're back in stock.

Dry lips healed

My main assistant in cold weather! I always had dry lips and no balms helped; they would crust over. With regular use of these vitamins, my lips have become healthy, and my hands no longer dry out :) My face doesn't feel tight either. Lately, I have received many compliments about my hair's rapid growth. I’m not sure if it’s related to the vitamins, but I suspect it is! I definitely recommend it if you have similar issues!

System Well is a fantastic immunity booster! I’ve been taking it for a while now, and it works well for my entire family. I take one in the morning and one at night, and if I feel a common cold coming on, I can take up to three tablets at once. It really works, but I wouldn’t take it on an empty stomach. I definitely recommend purchasing this product!
Prevents common cold

This product is excellent for strengthening immunity against viral infections like the common cold. I usually take similar prophylactic products, but this one feels more effective. I start with two capsules three times daily if I sense a cold approaching, and it works every time. I also enjoy a liquid extract with Echinacea, but I find this to be equally effective.

This multivitamin complex has been exceptionally effective, helping me stay healthy during winter. From my experience, this complex truly supports winter health without needing to take sick leave.

After my entire family started taking these vitamins, I've noticed a remarkable decrease in colds for me. The combination of this vitamin complex with additional D3 and fish oil works effectively. Good afternoon everyone! I’m a mother of two wonderful children, with the youngest still breastfeeding. A couple of months ago, I felt utterly drained. My child has allergies that limit my diet, and all pharmacy vitamins caused skin irritation. I ordered these vitamins hoping to support my body. After two weeks, I saw results! The first week showed no difference, but by the second, I found it easier to wake in the morning. I felt less lethargic, and my life started to feel more vibrant and positive.

I confirm the result; I wrote it out for a colleague who catches a common cold once or sometimes twice a month, suffering from throat issues, snot, sinusitis, and requiring antibiotics. Initially, I considered a multivitamin, but as she is allergic to iodine, I opted for elderberry with high content of elderberry, zinc, and vitamin C. Additionally, she was prescribed omega and probiotics. The results lasted over a month. When I felt a common cold coming on, I took two capsules nightly, and by morning, I felt fine. Her sister also administered it to her children, and they were healthy by morning. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly and wish to order more, but we’re waiting for a discount.

Improved vision
Most Useful Review

The best additive for sight! I have tried many supplements for vision, but this is by far the best. I take it for two months and then take a break for two months. One jar lasts two months, making it reasonably priced. The effects were immediate; I noticed an improvement in my vision after just one dose. The composition is rich and plant-based, minimising overdose risks even with other medications. The capsules are easy to swallow, and I’m thrilled to have found this product for my "eye problems". I highly recommend it for anyone, even those with good eyesight!

Effective compresses
Most Useful Review
12 people found this helpful
Excellent for compresses! Our paediatrician recommended using castor oil for colds and coughs. To make them, soak two small cloths in oil, apply to the child's chest and back, then wrap with cling film for up to 3 hours. After wrapping, massage the stomach clockwise for around 33 circles, rub their feet, and put on warm socks. This method has worked wonders; I have used these compresses three times in a row to help my child with a deep cough without medication. Previously, we relied on nebulisers and treatments that often led to bronchitis. I HIGHLY recommend this method!

Powerful detox effect
Most Useful Review
2 people found this helpful
Castor oil is incredibly potent! The impact of its compress is tremendous. Placing a compress around the liver aids in detoxifying the entire body. Applying poultices to painful or stiff areas alleviates discomfort. If the compress becomes bothersome, place it on the soles of your feet overnight for similar effects. I'm pleased with how it cleansed my abdomen and reduced leg swelling. Although the amount of body warmer and oil consumed is substantial, the effectiveness makes it worthwhile. I'll be using it indefinitely!

Castor oil from castor beans is of superb quality. It aids in detoxification and improves overall condition during colds. It is suitable for children and was beneficial for us in managing a severe cough and bronchitis. To use, prepare flannel cloth that fits you or your child, heat the oil in a steam bath, soak the cloth, cool it slightly, apply it to the bronchial area or stomach, and wrap with cling film before bed.

Enhanced eye health
Most Useful Review
3 people found this helpful
Complex fire! Our eyesight is invaluable, yet we often neglect it. Lutein and zeaxanthin in dietary supplements are crucial for eye health, as our body doesn't produce carotenoids naturally. Leafy spinach and egg yolks are high in lutein, but supplementing ensures adequate intake for proper functioning of the eyes, protecting them from oxidants. Studies show lutein absorbs up to 80% of harmful light rays and offers antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. This can reduce the risk of age-related eye diseases and the need for cataract surgery. I noticed significant changes after taking this complex—reduced tension, less redness, and overall eye clarity. Doctor Best's supplement is excellent, natural, and effective. I recommend it for everyone and plan to use it annually!

I sourced this in Mexico where it's not readily available in pharmacies, and many paediatricians are unaware of it. I sought it as an alternative for my daughter's colic, as she reacts poorly to simethicone. The paediatrician was unfamiliar but encouraged me to try it, and thankfully there were no allergic reactions. I dose her 1.5 ml and have noticed she sleeps more peacefully after taking it, particularly during her colic episodes. It’s of good quality, made from natural ingredients, however the taste is not ideal. Despite its size, it's sufficient for her infant colic stage.

I especially appreciated the natural quality of the ingredients, which lacked the artificial taste typical of many supplements. Regular consumption positively impacted my overall wellness, particularly during the colder months.

Girls, this is better than aloe vera gel! Every time I used aloe vera gel, it resulted in pimples, likely due to the fragrance in it. After multiple attempts, this alternative did not irritate my skin or cause any breakouts. It’s literally a better and cheaper option!

Bloating relief

Immediate relief from bloating and a sour stomach. It aids mild overnight constipation and provides rapid results for an upset tummy. Although it has a strong, alcohol-based taste, the herbal ingredients make it warming and refreshing. Once I recognised its benefits, the taste became acceptable, and I now drink it undiluted. I believe it also helps fend off common colds.

Nature's Way Goldenseal Root is fantastic – I believe it prevents me from getting ill. When I begin to catch a cold, it tends to make it vanish. It’s an essential preventive medicine for me. Each time I skip it or run out, I tend to fall ill or develop infections. In my opinion, the root is far more potent and effective than the herb.

This elderberry syrup works wonderfully for everything! I stocked up in preparation for the common cold, and it proved to be effective. When my baby caught a cold, I administered the syrup immediately. The symptoms improved remarkably; the cold did not progress as it typically does. The sweet taste is appealing, and my child, who is 1.5 years old, takes it without any fuss. All ingredients are natural and allergy-free for us. I’m pleased with the quality and always keep a supply at home!

Excellent! I had to order this after discontinuing contraceptive pills; my skin was in poor condition. I read it’s beneficial to take primrose oil afterward. Within just three to four days, my skin improved significantly. The pimples that appeared due to fatty and sweet foods disappeared. I have ordered more because I'm very pleased with the results.

Magic vitamins! My husband and I began taking alfalfa to strengthen our immunity following a bout with coronavirus. Within days, we felt significantly better: our digestion improved, appetite stabilised, and our frequent colds vanished. Although the tablets are large and require taking three at a time, adjusting to this routine is easy.
Immunity supporter

Lucerna is excellent! It contains significantly more vitamin C than citrus fruits, providing outstanding support to the immune system—no cold stands a chance. Alongside other essential vitamins, it offers numerous benefits, including protection against duodenal ulcers and support for vision and nervous system health. Despite having to swallow three large tablets a day, which can be uncomfortable, I find the benefits well worth it. Once my jar finishes, I’ll be reordering.

Cough improvement

Super! The syrup was tested, and it truly works! My child, who began coughing, showed significant improvement by the next day. I started giving the syrup at night, and after the first dose, the cough became less frequent. By the second night, a mild cough returned, but the syrup reassured my child. The following night was cough-free, and all symptoms of the common cold vanished. Honestly, I was sceptical but used miramistin for throat management simultaneously. I can vouch for its efficacy and will definitely repurchase!
