ALC shows neuroprotective potential
Acetyl-l-carnitine protects dopaminergic nigrostriatal pathway in 6-hydroxydopamine-induced model of Parkinson's disease in the rat.
The study aimed to assess whether acetyl-l-carnitine (ALC) could protect neurons in a rat model of Parkinson's disease.
We found that ALC at 200mg/kg significantly improved motor functions and reduced indicators of neuroinflammation and oxidative stress.
Additionally, it helped preserve important dopaminergic neurons and reduced cell death markers.
Overall, our results suggest ALC could serve as a supplementary treatment for Parkinson's by combating the illness's damaging processes.
Tremors significantly improved

My mother has Parkinson's disease, leading to tremors in her hands and feet, making her body unstable. After nearly a month of taking this product, her hand and foot tremors have significantly improved, though her instability has only slightly improved. However, her reactions are quicker now, and I am hopeful that continued consumption will lead to further improvements.

Carnosine shows neuroprotective effects
Antioxidative and anti-inflammatory protection from carnosine in the striatum of MPTP-treated mice.
We explored the neuroprotective effects of carnosine in mice exposed to a Parkinson's-like condition using MPTP. By adding varying doses of carnosine to their drinking water over four weeks, we noticed that it effectively reduced damaging oxidative stress and inflammatory responses.
Notably, carnosine preserved essential dopamine levels and improved glutathione activity, indicating its potential to protect against neurodegeneration. Overall, our findings suggest that carnosine may offer a beneficial strategy in mitigating the effects of Parkinson's disease.

Carnosine is truly remarkable. We have given it to our child twice, and there has been a noticeable breakthrough in their speech development, with no other changes made to their diet or medications. For an elderly relative with Parkinson's, the results are similarly impressive. They reported, "the fog in the head is gone, and there are fewer goosebumps," while continuing their standard therapy. I highly recommend trying Carnosine, as it appears quite safe unless one has serious low blood pressure or is scheduled for surgery soon. The Now Foods capsules are easy to take, being large yet manageable. I wish everyone good health!

5-HTP shows potential sleep benefits
Preliminary finding of a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of 5-hydroxytryptophan on REM sleep behavior disorder in Parkinson's disease.
We explored the impact of 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) on REM sleep behavior disorder in patients with Parkinson's disease. In a small, randomized, double-blind trial with 18 participants, we compared daily doses of 5-HTP to a placebo over four weeks. The results suggested that 5-HTP can improve sleep quality and stability without increasing REM sleep disorder episodes. However, the overall benefits were marginal and further research with larger groups and longer durations is essential to confirm these findings.
Enhances serotonin regulation
Most Useful Review
5-HTP increases serotonin, crucial for mood regulation and addressing depression, anxiety, and sleep issues. Studies indicate it aids in reducing Parkinson's symptoms across multiple areas, making it an effective supplement for patients struggling with this condition.

VCE-006.1 shows promise in Parkinson's
Preclinical Investigation in Neuroprotective Effects of the GPR55 Ligand VCE-006.1 in Experimental Models of Parkinson's Disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
We examined the neuroprotective effects of VCE-006.1, a compound targeting the GPR55 receptor, using murine models of Parkinson's disease (PD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Our results showed that VCE-006.1 successfully reversed motor impairments and some neurodegeneration caused by toxins in PD models. However, there were no significant benefits observed in ALS models regarding neurological decline.
Overall, while VCE-006.1 demonstrated potential neuroprotection in Parkinson’s, it was ineffective in ALS, indicating the need for tailored cannabinoid therapies for different neurodegenerative diseases.

Vital for health

B1 is part of five different enzymes, serving as a cofactor, and its deficiency causes fatigue. Factors such as diabetes, excessive alcohol, and consumption of large carbohydrates lead to B1 deficiency. This vitamin protects cells from oxidation and compounds that can harm the brain. A lack of B1 may cause heart enlargement, rapid pulse, and leg swelling. It also affects the nervous system, leading to tingling, digestive issues, dizziness, anxiety, and insomnia. The deficit stems from sugar, excess calories, refined foods, and certain health conditions. I take Vitamin B1 with Nutritional Yeast before exercising, which has significantly boosted my strength and improved my memory. For those with Alzheimer's or Parkinson's, it's essential. If you relate to these symptoms, I encourage you to try this dietary supplement!

B12 is vital for brain function, memory, and cognition, particularly for those with early-onset dementia or Parkinson. Many individuals lacking "stomach acid" struggle to digest B12 from their diets, hence the need for supplementation. I take this B12 alongside Vitamin C, various multivitamins, and minerals daily, ensuring comprehensive support for my health.
